IMPROVEMENT IN B'AG-HOIEDERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 143,194, dated September 23, 1873; application filed August 18, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE W. STRIKER, of Iowa Falls, county of Hardin and State of Iowa, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bag-Holders, of which the following is a specification:
The nature of my invention relates to an improvement in bag-holders; and it consists in an adjustable hinged brace secured to the back of the frame, so that themou'th of the bag can be raised and lowered at pleasure. 1t
also consists in the loop and braces by which the bag is held while being filled, all of which will be more fully described hereafter.

end of the bed is secured the hoop 5, which has its ends hooked into the sides of the bed, so that it can be raised or depressed at pleasure, and made to suit different-sized bags.
The hem of the bag is turned over the top of the bed, and then down over the hoop, and then a sharp-pointed brace, 6, fastened to each side of the bed, is run up through the hem just inside of the hoop, so as to fasten it securely in position. Thus held, the bag can be filled to its utmost without any danger of becoming loose. g
The hinged. brace can be extended, so that the mouth of the bag will be brought down near the floor, so that the grain can be readily shoveled in, in which case the whole weight of the bag will be supported upon the inclined bed.
The ends of the hoop should be passed entirely through the flanges 1, so that by shoving one of the ends farther in the hoops can be made of different sizes.
Having thus described my invention, I claim-- The combination of the bed a, brace 3, hoop 5, and braces 6, substantially as described.
