The side stenderde are formed of two parallel upright mom's-ere 'l, l, mounted on snitehle losses 2 and provided with cross hers 3, 3, ot the desired height of the several s elves.
The shelves ere up of is main shelf l, wide enough to fit hetween the two onrights of each standard, and a separate heel: member 5, which preferehly is about a third as wide-es the mein sh el This book men) her is mounted at right tangles to the main shell by dowel pins d, 6, which for full sized packages take into corresponding holes *3, 7, st thereer edge of the mein shelf. ln order to rovide e hnclr for smaller sized peelseges other dowel pin holes 8, 8, enelprovidod Each side standard at the roper height for eech shelf is provided with three bolt holes, two o1? there 51, 9, one in esnlr uprigh are bored on the some horizontal plane, While the third hole is bored in the cross brece near the back.
Each shelf is equipped at the ends with a metal plate 12 screwed or otherwise secured to the end of the shelf and provided with a right angled flange 13, which is secured to the bottom of the shelf. The ends of these plates have downward extensions 14- and 15 the front extension being provided with a fair of slots 16, 17. diverging somewhat, on the rear extension is provided with a single slot 18.
With the bolt holes 9 and 10 at the proper distance apart, the standards are erected and the shelves located. When it is desired to provide for shelves at an angle to the horizontel, the slots 17 and 18 in the metal plates are employed and bolts-secured in the holes 9 10. This gives the proper angle for the shelf end the back takes a corresponding position at right angles to the main shelf.
In order to further brace the structure end take any looseness of fit for the heck l secure rnbbenheeded tacks 20, one or more,
