Beit known that I, Pirrnicn LACOSTE, acitizen of the United States,residing at San Antonio, in the county of Bex-ar and State of` Texas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Sink Strainers, off which the following is a specificationI This invention relates to attachments for drain outlets, such as sinks, wash basins, and the like, and theA prima-ry object' 'ofthe invention is t'o provide an improved means for. leffectively preventing particles vof dirt and the like from 'enterlng into theywaste pipe and cloggingthe same.

A further object ofthe invention isf to provide an improved strainer for waste pipe so constructed as to catch the particles of dirt and solid matter without the passage of waste water therethrough, the strainer. bel ing detachably associated with the drain pipe to permit the removal thereof whenthe. strainer becomes filled with solid matter.

A still further object of the invention is to provide an improved strainer for drainpipes of the above character which is dur able and efficient in use, lone that is simple and easy to manufacture, and one which can be placed upon the market ata reasonable cost. f

Other objects'of the invention will appear in the following detail description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, forming apart of this specification, in which drawings:

The hanger or support C is provided for detachably holding thestrainer lB in concentric relation to the casing A and the same includes the upwardly and outwardly flared annular guide 15, which is provided with outwardly extending radially arranged horizontally disposed lugs 16 which are adapted to detachably engage in the recesses 17 formed in the lower. edge of the section 6 which rests on the offset portion of the cylindrical body 5 of the casing. When the annular ared guide 15 is placed in position surface of the short section 6 engages the upper surface of the oiset portion andprevents displacement of the strainer.
