This invention relates to fence post struc tures,and more particularly to corner fence;

It is 'an object of the-invention .to provide a fence post of this character which is properly held in a vertical position through the medium of a plurality of braces cooperating with each'other. The end 10 of the brace is connected to the upper end portion of the post 8 by means of a bolt or rivet 11. The opposite. end 12 of the brace 9 is adapted to extend into a base member 13, the end of the flange 14 of the brace member 9, being embedded in the base member, while the extremity of the flange 15 of the brace member 9 engages the upper face of the base member 13. In
this way, the end of the flange 14': serves as an anchor for the brace member. The base member 13 is similar in construction to the base member 5 but smaller, and is adapted to be disposed in spaced relation to thebase member 5, so that a substantial support is provided forthe primary brace 9.
To assist the brace'9 in holding the post 8 in a vertical position, there isprovided a plurality of secondary or auxiliary braces 16 end 17, the brace 16 being shorter than the brace 17, and having one of its end portions bolted to the ntermediate portion of the fence post 8, The opposite end portion of ice the brace 16 has the end portion of its flange 18 beveled so as to permit the brace 9 to engage the end portion of the flange 18. In this way, the beveled end portion of the flange 18 serves to properly position the brace 9 with respect to the base 14. The brace 1-7 is disposed adjacent the ground and has its end 19 bolted or otherwise secured to the fence post 8. The opposite end 20 of the brace 17, similar to the brace 16, has the end portion of its flange 21 beveled so as to permit the end portion of said flange to engage the brace 9.
From the foregoing it will be readily seen that this invention provides a novel form of corner fence post which is properly braced and maintained in position through a novel arrangement of braces and imitation stone base members. The lower end of the fence post and the end of the brace 9 do not come in contact with moisture in the ground as they are disposed centrally of the base member; The flanges on the lower edges of thebase members resist any lateral or any like movement of the base members. In addition to this,the intermediate portions ofthe brace 9 and the fence post 8 are not only reinforced, but the post is provided with additional securing means. It will also be noted that the brace members 16 and 17 may be disconnected from the brace member 9, and folded upon the fence post in parallel relation, thereto, together with the brace member 9, so as to render the device compact for shipping. Another feature is that the brace member 9 is connected at three spaced points to the fence post, that is, through the medium of the (connection of the secondary braces and the connection of the brace member 9 to the end of the post,
