To all whom it may concern: y
Be it known that we, LOUIS WEIDLioH and I ALFRED J. FLAUDER, citizens of the United States, and residents of Bridgeport, in the county-0f Fairfield and State Of'GODIlGCtI- cut, have invented certain new and-useful Improvements in Incense Burners and Perfumers, of which the following is a-specification. I V
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in perfuming and disinfect{ ing apparatus of a kind which employs heat 1 as a perfume or smoke expelling medium."
The purpose of the invention is to provide an attractive and ornamental article of manufacture in the form of a perfuming device to be used in connection with an electric lightingcircuit and employed in part. to provide. both light for illuminating purposes. and heat for vaporating the perfume odor.
A further object of the invention is provide a hollow stand and a removable cover therefor'to support the lighting and heating parts of the device from the cover so that it may-be readily removed for filling or charging and whereby the electric wire for-the lamp can be more "readily brought down from a chandelieror other ceiling or wall fixture to the perfumer, when positioned upon a table or stand adjacent thereto.
Suitable perforations are provided in the cover through which the odors from the interior of the stand may readily escape and circulate up into the room in which it is positioned. A transparent body portion may be used to enclose the perfuming apparatus,
1 and upon which the above mentioned cover is placed for supporting the lamp and to complete the symmetrical lines and design of the device which as above stated are made up in ornamental designs. v
With these and other objects in view the invention resides and consists in the construction and novel combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described, illustrated, in the accompanying drawings andpointed out in the claims hereto appended, it being understood that various changesin the form, proportion, size" and minor details of construction within the scope of the claims maybe resorted to with- Specification of Letters If'at'ent. Patented July 4, 1922, Application filed March ,31, 192;. Serial n. 457,561. v
or corresponding. parts throughout the sev-" I eral figures of the accompanying drawings forming a part upon which, 3

of this specification, and.
Fig. 2 is an enlarged detachedperspective view of the socket, lamp and supporting device, and Y f M Fig; 3 shows adetached perspective view of thefbowl which surrounds the lower end of the lamp to contain the materials to be] heated, such as perfume and incense.
Referring in detail to the characters of reference marked upon" the drawings, 5.
represents a metal base which nay be made of. any suitable material and preferred design and 6 represents a body 'portionor vase which may be madeof glass, china or other transparent material and of any preferred deslgn and ornamentation. The upper end of the receptacle is finished to receive a cover 7 such 'for instance as that shown in the'drawing having a central vertical hole 8 through -which the electric light wire 9 7.
passes for connection with the'socket 10 secured in the under side of the cover. The cover is further provided with a pair of holes 11 throu h which the odors from the n elongated form ofelectric lamp 12 is seated in the socket and provase escape.
jected' down centrally within the vase. A
, suitable support such as a series of wires 13 having bent endportions 14 are secured to the socket portion of the cover and are designed to yieldably receive and support'the bowl 15 which may also be made of glass and when so supported is positioned around the lower end portion of the lamp, so that the latter extends into the bowl and likewise into the liquid or other material contained therein to be evaporated.
I From the foregoing it will be seen that if it is desired to operate the perfumer, the cover is first lifted, out from the vase which also serves to remove the lamp and bowl so that the latter can readily be filled with perfume and then placed back in position; The
current for the electric lamp can be turned on and off by a switch not shown in the electric drop Wire 9.
' Having thus described our invention, What We claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. In a perfumer of the class described,-
the combination with a hollow receptacle, of a removable cover therefor having a lamp socket upon its inside and an electric wire connected through the cover to the socket, a hanger also secured to the cover, a liquid container removably supported in the hanger, an electric lamp supported in the socket and extended into the container to engage the liquid when carried therein.
2. In a perfumer of the class described, the combination With a hollow receptacle, of a perforated cover therefor having an electric lamp suspended from its underside, a hanger also secured to the cover, a bowl re- Inovably supported in the hanger, and surrounding the lamp and adapted to contain a liquid to be va orized by the lamp.
Signed at Bri geport in the county of F airfield and State of Connecticut this 25th day of March, A. D. 1921.
