ADJUSTABLE STOVE LEG.

Be it known that I, FRED. F. FEROH, a citizen of the United States, residing at Joplin, in the county of Jasper and State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Adjustable Stove Legs, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in legs or supports for stoves and the like the general object of the invention being to provide the leg with an adjustable part so that the stove can be leveled on uneven floors.

Another object of the invention is to provide a screw-threaded cup shaped member for engaging a screw-threaded stud on the end of the leg, said member having holes therein for receiving a tool for turning it and also for permitting air to circulate through the member to keep the same cool and thus eliminate danger of burning or scorching the floor.

This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claims.

In describing my invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which Figure 1 is a perspective View of a stove leg constructed in accordance with my invention.

Figure 2 is an enlarged sectional view through the lower part of the leg.

In these views, 1 indicates the stove leg, which may be constructed in the ordinary way or in any desired manner, except that a screw-threaded stud 2 is formed on its lower end. At the junction of the stud with the bottom of the leg a shoulder 3 is formed.

A cup shaped member 4 having its interior screw-threaded engages this stud and when screwed home thereon so that its end will bear against the shoulder a space 5 is left between the bottom'of the member and the end of the stud. Holes 6 are formed in the lower part of the member for receiving a tool so that the member may be turned there by and also for the circulation of air therethrough. This air will prevent the heat from the stove passing down the leg and scorching the floor. A flange 7 is formed on the lower end of the member to give the same a broad supporting face.

It willbe apparent from the above that the member 4 may be adjusted on the stud to level the stove so that it is not'necessary to place wedges under some of the legs to do this. It will be seen that in all positions of the member the air circulating space will be left as the shoulder prevents this from being eliminated by the bottom of the member striking the bottom of the stud.

It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.

I desire it to be understood that I may make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.

Having thus described my invention what I claim is:

A stove leg having a screw-threaded stud on its lower end and a cup shaped member having its interior screw-threaded engaging said stud, a shoulder on the stud for limiting the movement of the member on the stud so as to leave a space between the lower end of the stud and the bottom of the member, holes in said member communicating with said space and a flange on the bottom of said member.
