STORAGE CABINET.
Specification of Letters Patent. Paffipgnfl eqjj may 16, 11922,
Application filed July 5, 1921. Serial Nb. 482,314.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOSEPH A. MINER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Indianapolis, in the county of Marion and State of Indiana, have invented a new and useful Storage Cabinet, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is to produce a tray holding structure capable of being mounted within an inclosing cabinet and of such form. that the tray holding member may be readily projected outwardly and downwardly to a convenient point of access.
The accompanying drawings illustrate my invention. Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a cabinet with my improved structure, the said structure being shown in its projected position; Fig. 2 a side elevation of the tray holding structure and Fig. 3 a front elevation of the structure shown in Fig. 2.
In the drawings, 10 and 11 indicate horizontal and vertical walls'of a suitable containlng casing. My improved structure comprises a pair of L-shaped brackets 12, 12 connected at their lower ends by a cross bar 13 adapted to rest on surface 10 and provided at their upper ends with ears 1% by which they may be secured in place against wall 11. Each member 12 is provided with an upstanding ear 15 and pivoted to the two ears is an upwardly extending frame 16. Pivoted at 17, in sockets formed in the inner faces of the lower arms of brackets 12, is an inverted V-frame 18. Pivoted to the outer ends of frames 16 and 18 is a tray holding frame 19 having outwardly extended feet 20 at its lower end, each of said feet having an upwardly extending sharpened point 21. At the upper end, the tray holding frame 19 carries a bracket 22 which carries downwardly projected screws 23, the lower ends of which are sharpened, the arrangement being such that an article holding tray T may be held in place on frame 19- between the points 21 and screws 23.
Pivoted at 24 to the upper end of bracket 12 is an L-shaped arm 25 carrying a standard lamp socket 26 in which an electric bulb may be placed. Pivoted at 27 to arm 25 is a link 28, the lower end of which is pivoted to frame 16.
By the above described arrangement, upward movement of frames 16 and 18 serves to draw tray 19 upwardly and inwardly into the enclosing compartment and to fold the lamp socket 26 downwardly. Movement of arms 16 and 18 downwardly serves to project the tray 19 forwardly and downwardly and to relatively raise, or swing upwardly lamp socket 26 so that the light from its lamp will shine over the entire tray '1 and I facilitate the selection ofany article therefrom.
It will be noted that the structure is of such character that it may be readily mounted in existing cabinets by anyone capable of using a screw driver.
I claim as my invention:
1. As an article of manufacture, a tray support comprising L-shaped'main brackets providing partition engaging ends at right angles to each other for engaging horizontal and vertical supports at their opposite ends, a pair of swinging distance frames pivoted to said brackets. one pivoted to the vertical legs of the brackets and the other pivoted to the horizontal legs of the brackets, and a tray frame pivoted to the ends of said distance frames atdifierent vertical points on said tray frame, substantially as described.
2. As an article of manufacture, a tray support comprising L-shaped main brackets providing partition engaging ends at right angles to each other, pair of swinging dis stance frames pivoted to said brackets, one pivoted to the vertical legs of the brackets and the other pivoted to the horizontal legs of the brackets, and a tray frame pivoted to the ends of said distance brackets, a lamp socket pivoted to the tray frame, and a link connecting said lamp socket and one of the distance frames.
In witness whereof, I, JOSEPH A. MINER, have hereunto set my hand at Indianapolis,
Indiana, this 9th day of June, A. D. one.
thousand nine hundred and twenty-one.
JOSEPH A. MINER.
