Be it known that I, GIUSTINO CATTANEO, employee subjectV of the King of Italy, resident of 79 Via Monte Rosa, have invented new and useful Improvements in `the Cooling Arrangements for Exhaust Valves of-InternaL' Combustion Engines, (for which I have filed an a plication 1n Italy April 18, 1917,) of' whic the following is a specification. This invention relates to valves, and in particular to exhaust valves for internal combustion engines. An object of the invention is to rovide an improved valve (ling a cooling device whereby suitable cooling liquid may -be circulate through the valve body and) stem without interfering with the proper operation of the valve. A further object of the invention is to provide means `for lintroducing the cooling medium' into the valve through the controlling .mechanism therefor,. 1n' order' to avoid sliding joints 'between the liquid eeding means and the movable valve structure.

Further thel more or less perfect tightness of the various parts in which the oil is circulated does not aiect the regular working` of the engine, there existing no communication whatever between the circulating'pressure voil .and the exhaust gas chamber. Y

Of course also in other parts of the device the constructional details and those camv and the concerning the form may be, varied from those described and illustrated without dearting-.from the spirit and scope of the 1nvent1on` as set forth in the appended claims. l l' Having now described my invention and how the same is to be .carried out, what I claim as my invention, is:
