T 0 all whom it may concern Be it known that I, DRACOS i'doU'inr-z, a citizen of the United States, residing in Baton Rouge, in the parish of East Baton Rouge and State of Louisiana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Hose Holders; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
The present invention relates to improvements in hose holders and it more particularly refers to an improved holder for the purpose of supporting fire hose upon tug boats.
It is an object of the invention to provide an improved hose holder wherein the hose will be sustained without likelihood of its falling or of its being casually released, but which further admits of the hose being lifted off, and being ejected from the holder in case of emergency.
A further object of the invention is to provide an improved hose holder for the above described purpose which is of compact and simple construction, preferably made of wire in twopieces and being capable of attachment to the cabins of the boats in the usual positions.
lVith the foregoing and other objects in view. the invention will be more fully described hereinafter, and will be more particularly pointed out in the claims appended hereto.

Fig. 2 is a fragmentary view of the hose receiver.
Referring more particularly to the drawings, I provide a bracket. preferably made of a single piece of wire bent into a substan tially rectangular formation with sides 1 and 2 and end connecting bars 3 and 41-. Convolutions 5 and 6 are made in the bracket to receive screws or other fastenings by which the same are secured to the cabin or other appropriate support. The lower portion of the bracket is bent outwardly away from the support, the arms 1 and 2 preferably being bent into sweeping curves which are provided with convolutions 7 and Specification of Letters Tatent.

'After the formation of the convolutions, the arms 1 and 2 are curved reversely down toward the connecting bar 1. The hose holder is likewise formed of a single length of wire bent into a substantially rectangular shape and having its side members 10 and 11 curved to conform substantially to the hose 12, indicated in Fig. 1. The side members 10 and 11 are connected by end pieces 13 and 1.4, the end piece 13 being provided with a weight 15 to hold the receiver in a normally upright position. Convolutions 16 and 17 are wround from the intermediate portions of the side members 10 and 11 and are adapted to register with the eyes 7 and 8 and to be receivable upon the pin 9 to permit of the swinging movement of the reoeiver.
In Fig. 1 the receiver is shown in full lines as supporting a hose 12. It will be seen that the lower curved portions of the arms 1 and 2 of the bracket will assist to support the hose and that these portions form stops to limit the movement in this direction of the receiver. thus reinforce and aid the receiver in sustaining the hose. This position is normally maintained by the weight 15 which counteracts any tendency of the hose to swing outwardly and downwardly except by a direct and forcible thrust.
The matter of removing the hose is a comparatively simple one, it being only neces sary to grasp and draw the hose 12 outwardly. In so doing the outer portions of the receiver are encountered and made to swing the receiver to the dotted line position shown in Fig. 1. In this way the hose 12 is not only released, but it is positively ejected from the receiver and the receiver is made to assume a substantially inverted position. In this latter position the bar 1 of the bracket forms a stop to encounter the receiver. The weight 15 in this instance holds the receiver inverted until upon the replacement of the hose it is shifted manually back to the upright condition.
t will thus be appreciated that the holder will sustain the hose at all times, firmly and effectively, but that when its use becomes necessary the holder provides for the quick ejection of the hose without having to go through any preliminary operations. Fur

It is obvious that various changes and modifications may be made in the details of construction and design of the above specifically described embodiment of this invention Without departing from the spirit thereof, such changes and modifications being restricted only by the scope of the following claims.
What is claimed is:
1. An improved hose holder comprising a bracket of a one piece Wire structure having one portion thereon extending away from the support to which the bracket is affixed, a pivot pin carried by the projecting por tion of the bracket, and a tr0ugh-shaped hose holder constructed of a single piece of Wire having looped portions substantially central thereon. engaged rotatively about the pivot pin, said bracket being weighted to an upright position substantially as described.
An improved hose holder comprising a bracket made of a single length of Wire bent into substantially rectangular shape With loops made therein to receive fastening means for connecting the bracket to a support, the lower portion of the bracket being curved away from the support and proided with convolutions, a pivot pin held in said convolutions, and a hose holder made also of a single length of Wire bent into substantially rectangular shape and curved to conform With the hose, said holder having convolutions made at substantially central part to rotatably fit about said pivot pin, said holder being also Weighted to an up right position, substantially as described.
