Description

E. G. INGRAHAM.
AUTO CARD AND KEY CASE,
- APPLICATION FILED JULY 12.1920.
Patented an. 31, 1922.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
EDWARD G. INGRAHAIM, OF NEW RAYMER, COLORADO.
AUTO CARD AND KEY CASE.
To all whom it may concern.
Be it known that I, EDWARD G. INGRAHAM, a citizen of the United States, residing at New Raymer, in the county of Weld and State of Colorado, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Auto Card and Key Cases, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
My invention relates to a card case and key holder, and has for its object to provide a device in which the usual operators permit and switch key for the automobile will always be associated.
Another object of the invention is to provide a device in which the permit is visible even when the switch key is in use.
Other objects and advantages of the invention will be apparent from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, in which;
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the device in use. i
Figure 2' is a rear View ofthe holder, the flaps being shown partly open and,
Figure 3 is an end view of the case.
Referring to the drawing more in detail, the numeral 1 designates a card case having a pocket 2 on'one side thereof and a pair of flaps 3 on the'opposite side. The pocket 2 is provided with a transparent panel 4,
through which the operators permit is displayed.
Specification of Letters Patent. "Patented Jan. 31, 1922.
Application filed Ju1y12, 1920. Serial No. 395,721.
On one wall of the case is secured a plate 5, to which is pivotally connected a key ring or other key supporting means 6. The key may thus be swung out and inserted in the swltch 7 shown in Fig. 1, or may be folded into the case as shown in Fig. 2, and enclosed by flaps 3 which are fastened by means of the clasp 8.
From the foregoing description it will be seen that I have provided a very simple and convenient arrangement whereby the operators permit and the switch key are always associated, thereby avoiding the liability of driving the machine. in the absence of a permit.
Having fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to'secure by Letters Patent is:
A device of the class described comprising a substantiallyrectangular card case including flexible flaps and a pocket, a clasp for securing said flaps, a window in said pocket on the side opposite to saidflaps and adapted to display an auto license card, a plate attached to the interiorof said card case, and a key ring pivotally attached to said plate, said key ring adapted to carry an automobile switch key.
