"Be it known that I, WI IJAM GAYIQORD,

acit'izen of the United States, residing at Geneva, in the county of Ontario and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful, Improvements in Razor Handles, of.

which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to the making of metal tools, and more especially to blanks and processes as relating to cutlery; and the object of the same is to produce a. metal An important feature of this inventionis the matter of economy, I find a metal handle made of one piece is cheaper than any other kind of handle.

'Another, object of my invention is to do away with parts as far as possible, the invention consisting only of the handle and the pivot between it and the blade.

Other objects will appear in the following specification and claim.

The razor in the present case comprises is an edge View of theYhandle the blade B and the shank S.

The handle is made of one piece of metal, preferably aluminum; It is formed with two sides 1 and 2, integrally. connected by an end piece 3 at one end and spaced sufficiently from each other to leave a slot 4 between the sides, the slot being preferably a little nar rower than the back of the blade B that when the latter is folded into the slot,'it cannot pass through between the sides of the handle and in fact its cutting edge will be protected by the handle as usual. On the inner faces of the sides at the opposite end from their integral connection, are formed bosses 5 and 6 stamped or otherwise made integral with the sides themselves, so that there'isprovided spaces on the inside of the passing through said holes and Witnesses metal thus forced inwardly in forming the spacer and leaving a countersink for the rivet head making the head coplanar with the outside thus preventing the head from protruding. These do away with the necessity for washers. Through holes 7 in these bosses is passed a pivot pin 8 which is pref-- erably' upset orgotherwise riveted at its outer ends so it cannot fall out. The" pin passes through the shaft S of the blade as usual.
