CLOSET ATTACHMENT.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Jan.3, 11922.
Application filed October 7, 1920. Serial No. 415,224.
To'all whom it may concern: I Be it known that I, ELOISE H. METOALF,
a citizen of the United States, residing at Baltimore, in the State of Maryland, have .5 invented certain new and useful Improvements in Closet Attachments; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear,.
i which can be readily removed from said seat by simply pulling it therefrom.
In the drawings: Figure 1 represents my improved attachment as folded for delivery by a vending machine.
F ig. 2 represents my improved attachment as unfolded ready to be applied to the seat. Fig. 3 represents a seat with my improved attachment applied thereto. a
Fig. 4 is a section along the kne l-4 in Fig. 3 looking in the direction of the arrow. Figs. 5 to 9, inclusive, represent stages in the .process of folding my improved attach ment. In the drawings}: I
10 represents my improved attachment formed in the shape of a triangle having the base 11 and sides 12-12. The base and sides may be of any suitable lengths and 4 relative proportions to suit the seats with which my attachment is to be used, and it is to be noted that Imake the bounding lines of my attachment straight so that 'same may be readily formed from a continuous roll of paper with a minimum of expense for tools and with a minimum of" waste paper.
. An oval shaped hole 13 is provided in any suitable location in my improved attachment and radiating from the periphery of said hole is a plurality of perforations such as 14 forming lines of fracture when the attachment is being used and thus permitting the paper between the fractures to form a covering for the interior rim of the seat. When my improved attachment is to he 5 a trian used the closet seat 15 is to be raised and the corners 1616 of my improved attachment are to be folded around the rear portion of the outeredge of the seat, then the corner 17 is to be brought underneath the seat 15 as shown at 18 in Figs. 3 and 4:; and then the end brought around on top of the attachment as shown at 19 in said figures, thus effectually securing the attachment in place. It is to be noted that the attaching 'operation may be performed without the fingers coming in contact with the seat.
'When the attachment is to be removed, the seat is to be raised and by simply pulling the attachment, the corners l616 and the portions 18 and 19 thereof will simply unfold therefrom.
" It is to be noted that when the seat is in use the pressure of the seat against the bowl 20 WIH'SGCHIQ the attachment in position as shown in Fig. 4.
-When the operation of forming my improved attachment is completed, it is in the shape shown in Fig. 2. It is thengfolded along the line 21--21' in said figureto bring it into the shape shown in Fig. 5. It is then folded along the line 22-22 in Fig. 5 to bring it into the shape shown in Fig. 6. It is then folded along the line 23-93 to bring it into the shape shown in Fig. 7. It is then folded along the line 2424 to bring it into the shape shown in Fig.- 8. It is then folded along the line 25-25 to bring it into the shape shown in Fig. 9, and finally it is Thus it will be seen that I provide a simple, cheap and eifective attachment which can be produced without the use of expensive tools and which can be readily folded for the urpose of carrying in the pocket or of delivery by vending machines.
I claim I 1. A closet seat cover triangular in shape and rovided with a hole therethrough.
2. he combination with a closet seat, of
lar cover thereon two of the corners 0 said cover being bent around the rear outer edge of said seat and'the remaining corner being bent around the front outer edge of said seat, across the bottom thereof and around the front inner edge of said
