IMPROVEMENT IN COMBINED SCISSORS AND TAPE-LINES..
' Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 1130,22?, dated June 24, 1873; application tiled 4 April 26, 1873.
.To all whom it lmay concern Be it known that I, MARGARET J. STOE- BINGS, of Youngstown, in the county of Mahoning-and State of Ollio, have invented a new and improved Combination Scissors and Tape-Line, of which the following is a specitication: v p
In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 represents a top view of my combination scissors and tape-line, and Fig. 2 a side view oti` the same.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
The object of my invention is tO combine the common. scissors or shears with a spring sion d of the scissor-pivot is inserted. The
side e ot casca., next to the scissor-blades`r is ot' a convex shape, which produces a sideward projection of the tape-measure A, for easier handling of the same, and alsovits rmer closing on the scissor-blades, preventing thereby their-loosening on pivot b. 0n using the tapemeasure the scissors form a a convenient hold or handle at one end thereof,
the tape-measure interfering not in thedeast' with the use ofthe scissors. The annoying displacing andloss ot' the measure -are avoided by this combination, as the scissors, on account of their size, get less easilycovered or lnislaid.
Having thus described my invention, VI claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patentl. The tape-measure B, provided with a.
convex inner side and threaded eye, b, and adapted for attachment to the extended screwthreaded pivot d of the scissors A, as shown as described.
2. The combination of scissors A with the tape-measure B, substantially as and for the purpose described.
