The invention relates to metallic rims for molded receptacles, such as concrete laundry Heretofore, it has been usual to form these metallic rims by beveling the ends of the rim parts, soldering the beveled ends, laying the frame thus formed in the mold, then pouring concrete into the mold and upon the frame. This soldering operation involves a considerable expense and furthermore there is always a liability that the rim parts may be tilted so that their faces will not be parallel due to the fact that the frame may not properly fit in the mold. It is the object of my invention to provide a metallic rim, the parts of which can be easily engaged with each other to interlock, and further can be adjusted relative to each other to properly fit within the mold. Other objects of the invention reside in the novel features of construction and combinations and arrangements of parts as more fully hereinafter set forth.

1 is a laundry tub preferably formed of molded concrete and also having a metallic rim around its outer edge for protecting the same. 2 and 3 are cooperating members of the metallic rim which together form a corner at the outer edge of the tub, these members being formed from blanks bent on the dotted lines shown in Figs. 1 and 2. The member 2 has the top 1 and the depending outer and inner side flanges 5 and 6 respectively which terminate in inwardly and downwardly extending flanges 7 which latter are embedded in the concrete. For the purpose of locking these members 2 and 3 to each other so that they will remain in proper position while the concrete is being poured into the mold, the inner flange 10 of the member 3 is provided with I the opening 12 and the open ended opening 13 adjacent to the under-surface of the top 8. The member 4 has the cut-away portion 14 forming the spaced bearings or tongues 15 and 16 which are adapted to extend through the openings 13 and 12 respectively and adjacent to theunder surfaceof the top 8. The tongue 15 is at the outer edge ofthe top 4: and the outer side 5 of the member 2 is adapted to substantially close the end of the member 3 when the two are assembled. 17 is a shoulder in substantial alinement with the inner end 18 of the cutaway portion 14, which shoulder is adapted to contact with the inner flange 10 of the member 3 to'position the member 3 at right angles to the member 2.
To permit of moving the member 3 transversely of the member 2, the openings 12 and 13 in the member 8 areof greater length than the width of the bearings or tongues 16 and 15 respectively of the member2. Since the hearings or tongues are longitudinally movable into the openings, it isseen that the members2 and 3 may be relatively adjusted to properly fit within molds of limited varied sizes. When'pouring the concrete into the mold, the members forming the rim are inverted so that the concrete will force the upper member downwardly upon the lower member and into firm contact therewith. The inwardly and down wardly extending flanges of these members are embedded in the concrete to more securely hold the members in place.
From the above description, it will be readily seen that I have provided a simple construction of metallic rim for molded receptacles which has its parts mechanically locked firmly together due to the spaced bearings and in which the operation of soldering is,eliminated.
What I claim as my invention is:
1. In a metallic rim for molded receptacles, the combination with a member having a depending flange with an opening therein, of a second member extending ransversely to said first mentioned member and having a tongue slidably engaging in said opening.
2. In a metallic rim for molded receptacles, the combination with a member having a top and depending side flanges at its opposite edges, one of said side flanges having spaced openings therein adjacent to the under surface of said top, of a second member having a top and depending side flanges at its opposite edges, said top having portions slidably engaging in said openings.
3. In a metallic rim for molded receptacles, the combination with a member having a top and depending side flanges, one of said side flanges having an open-ended opening and an adjacent opening therein near said top, of a second member having a top and depending side flanges, one of said side flan es substantially closing the end or" said first mentioned member and the top of said second member having a cut-away portion forming bearings insertible through said openings and into engagement with the under surface of the top of said first men.
