To all wher/a t may concern Be it known that I, FRANK SIMANTZ, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Grand Haven, in the county of Ottawa and State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Vall Constructions, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in wall construction and has particular reference to the construction of partition walls for dwellings and the like.
The primary object of the invention is to provide a simple and inexpensive way of constructing partition walls whereby the same will be substantially non-sound conducting and have the properties of durability and the like which insure successful commercial use.
Other objects will become apparentes the nature of the invention is better understood, and the same consists of the novel form, combination and arrangement of parts, hereinafter more fully described, shown in the accompanying drawings and claimed.
In the drawings, wherein like reference characters designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.

Referring more in detail to the several views, the present invention contemplates the erection of the usual uprights or studding 5 at .suitable intervals and extending upwardly from the floor 6. as well as connected by horizontal laths 7 to which is ap-v plied a primary coating of plaster as at 8 in the usual manner.
The improvement embodied in the present invention is in placing parallel closely related bamboo stalks against the outer surface of the primary plaster coating 8 as at 9 and then applying a second coating of plaster as at 10 to cover the bamboo stalks, whereby a finished appearance is given to the wall and whereby the partition Vwall is made substantially non-sound conducting. stalks and applying the same to the primary coating of plaster, they are connected in proper relation. by means of twisted wire as at ll, thus making a sort of fabric which may be manufactured in sheet or roll form. The wire embraces each stalk and the opposite strands are twisted between adjacent pairs of stalks in the preferred embodiment of the invention as shownclearly in Figs. 3 and e, and the pith or core of the stalk is preferably removed so that the bamboo stalks are hollow or provided with a clear b ore as at l2. The bamboo stalk fabric is preferably applied by stapling through the primary coating of plaster 8 into the latlis 7 as at 13 and it is preferable to apply the sound deadening fabric in horizontally arranged strips which may be superposed to extend to the ceiling if necessary.
The layers of plaster are applied to the lathlng, and the studding and lathing are erected in the ordinary and well known manner. It will thus be seen that a reinforced sound deadening partition is provided.
From the foregoing description, it is believed that the construction and manner of erecting a wall in accordance with the present invention as well as the advantages of the same will be readily understood and appreciated by those skilled in the art. l
Minor changes may be made in the invention without departing from the spirit and scope thereof as claimed.
Vhat is claimed as new is l. In a wall construction, the combination with upright stud-.ding members having laths connecting the same, and a primary layer of plaster applied to said laths, of a sound deadening fabric applied to the outer surface of said primary layer of pla:- ter, and a second layer of plaster applied to the primary layer of plaster and said sound deadening fabric whereby the latter is completely covered.
2. ln a wall construction, the combination with upright studding members having laths connecting the same, and a primary layer of plaster applied to said laths, of sound deadening bamboo stalks applied to the outer surface of said primary layer of plaster, and a second layer of plaster applied to the primary layer of plaster and to said stalks whereby the latter is completely covered.
