13-14: of the circuit are arranged, one in` the lid 2 and thexother in the box` 1, so that when thelid is closed down theterminals fall into contact and so turn the light on, and vice versa as the lid is raised. rlhe light tubes 10-11 are inclined forwardly so as to proj ect the light upon the egg 7 at an angle more convenient to the operator. The operation of the device is apparent from the above description.
FVhile l have herein described a certain speciiic method of constructing and assembling the elements of my invention, it is understood `same may be varied in minor details, not departing from the spirit of my invention as dened in the appended claims.
' l/Vhat I claim tobe new `and patentable is:
1. An egg Candler, comprising a box and hinged lid; an egg board within the box; egg holding apertures in the egg board; electric light bulbs .below said apertures; an electric circuit through said bulbs; telescoping light tubes over the bulbs and directed towardsaid apertures; focusing lenses in the upper sections of said tubes; and electric ter minals as part of the circuit, and located one on the box lid and the other on the box body, as means Vtor automatically turning the light on or oil as the lid is closed or raised.
2. ln an egg candler employing a box with a lid, and electric lights :tor detecting defective eggs, an automatic switch for the lights, rembodying electric terminals for the light circuit,lo`cated one on, the box lid and the other on the box body.
