IMPROVEMENT IN TREADLEMOVEMENTS Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 139,305, dated May 27, 1873; application filed y February 21, 1873. t
To all 'whom it may concern:
\ Be it known that I, JOHN EVANS, of Rosenhayn, in the county of Cumberland and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and usey ful Improvement in Treadle-Movement; and
y' the drive-wheel; and C, a crank-pin. To the crank-pin C is pivoted .the upper end of a connecting-rod, D, the lower end of which is pivoted to the tread'le E, which is pivoted to 'the lower part ofthe frame A. F is a spring-the lower end of which is attached to the treadle E, preferably over the fulcrum, The upper end of the spring F is` slotted to receive the crank-pin C, as shown. l
By this construction the spring E will always bring the crank-pin C into such a position that, on operating the treadle E, the wheel B will always travel forward, and render unnecessary the use of the hand.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is t l The spring F, slotted at the upper end and applied to treadle E and crank-pin C, as and for the purpose described. t
