PRICE-TAG- HOLDER.
T 0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ANDRE HUTT NEWTON, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Beaumont, in the county of Jeiierson and State of Texas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Price- Tag Holders, of which the following is a specification.
My invention is an improvement in price tag holders, and has for its object to provide a device of the character specified, adapted for connection with the hangers of garments, for carrying a tag with data thereon concerning the garment carried by the hanger, and which may be easily attached to the hanger.

Figure 1 is a front view of a clothes hanger having the improved holder,
Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the holder detached.
The present embodiment of the invention is shown in connection with a clothes hanger of usual construction, consisting of the body 1 and. the suspending hook 2 connected with the body, and the improved tag holder is designed to be connected to the body near the hook.
The improved holder comprises a plate 3 of suitable size, having at one end a curved extension 4L, and at the other a pair of arms 5 which extend laterally from the plate in the same direction, and. in parallel relation, and each arm is provided at its free end with an inwardly extending pointed spur or lug 6.
Between the extension 4 and the arms 5 the plate has a pair of inwardly extending overlying flanges 7, which form guides for receiving the side edges of the tag indicated at S. The extension 4 has an opening 9, and the holder is arranged on the body oi? the hanger in the manner shown in Fig. l.

The hook 2 which has its shank connected to the body of the hanger in any suitable or desired manner is engaged with the opening 9 of the holder, and the arms 5 of the holder engaging opposite faces of the body of the hanger, the spurs or lugs 6 being forced into the material of the body.
Preferably the hanger is curved to fit the curve of the top of the hanger so that it fits smoothly thereon, and the data on the price tag 8 will be clearly displayed above the neck of the garment which is supported by the hanger. When another garment is placed on the'hanger the price tag may be removed and another inserted. This tag may carry any desired data, as for instance the size of the garment, the lot number, and the price.
I claim:
1. In combination with a garment hanger, of a price tag holder for connection with the hanger, said holder comprising a plate hav' ing guides at its opposite side edges for engaging the side edges of the price tag, and having means for attaching it to the hanger, said attaching means comprising a lug at one end of the plate having an opening for receiving the shank of the suspending hook of the hanger, andhaving at the other end a pair of arms embracing the opposite sides of the hanger, and having spurs for engaging the material of the hanger.
2. In combination witha garment hanger, of a price tag holder for connection with the hanger and comprising a plate .having guides at its opposite side edges for receiving the side edges of the price tag, said plate having at one end a curved lug provided with an opening for receiving the shank of the suspending hook of the hanger, and having at the other end means for engaging the opposite sides of the body of the hanger.
