heating plants, and more particularly to the' boiler construction thereof.
The primary ObJBCt of the invention is to provide an interchangeable boiler construc-' tion, or one which may be employed for generating steam, when used in connectlon with steam heating plants, and one which may, by
a slight modification in construction, be eiiiciently employed as a water heater, used in connection with hot water systems.
A further object of the invention is to provide a boiler, having means for etliciently drying the steam by extracting the water from the steam, in its passage through the boiler sections, forming the boiler proper.
A. still further object of the invention is to deliver the substantially dry steam to a super-heating coil located between the boiler sections, before finally delivering the steam to the heating system.
With the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, may be made within the scope of what is claimed without departing from the spirit of the invention.
Referring now to the drawing:

Having reference to the drawings in detail, the reference character 5 designates the fire boX of the furnace, the same including the side walls 6 having the upper flange portions 7, providing a support for the boiler sections of the boiler, forming the subject matter ofthe present invention.
The front section 8, or head section ofthe boiler, includes a comparatively shallow member, supported on the flange, and extending upwardly therefrom, terminating at a point flush with the top of the boiler proper.
This head section 8, includes an upper compartment 9 and a bottom compartment 10 forming the lower compartment being the feed compartment for the boiler, the same having communication with the feed pipe 12.
The upper and lower compartments are in communication with each other, through the pipe 18, at one side, and through the pipe 11 at the opposite side, which pipes have right angled end sections 14 and 15, communicating with the respective compartments, through the openings 16 and 17, the upper pipes 1 1, being disposed adjacent the lower extremity of the upper section 9, whereby the water is delivered to the lower portion of the section 9, to insure circulation of the water through the boiler proper.
Disposed at the rear of the boiler, is the header 18', which includes the lower section 19, and upper section 20, the same being held in spaced relation by the reservoir 21.
As shown, the lower section 19, has communication with the reservoir 21, through the pipes 22 passing through the openings 23 and 241- respectively, and supplies the reservoir 21 *ith Water, to be generated into steam.
The horizontal (partition 25. extends transversely through the upper section 20, adjacent the bottom thereof, divides the upper section 20, into an upper and lower compartment, the compartments having comn' unication with each other, through the super-heater 26, which includes a series of super-imposed coils 27, extending into the boiler, and disposed between the water columns, thereof.
The lower compartment, of the upper section, provides a chamber for feeding the heating system, not shown, and used in connection with the boiler, said feed chamber having communication with the heating system, as through the coupling 28.
The reservoir 21, has communication with the upper compartment 12, of the header 8, above the partition 9, through the horizontally disposed super-imposed water tubes 29, whereby water or steam, is circulated from the header section 8, to the header section 18.
The boiler proper, includes the substantially arched shaped sections 30, which com prise the vertical leg section 31, arranged in parallel relation with each other, and having communication with each other, adjacent the tops and bottoms thereof, through the connecting tubes 32. It will therefore be seen, that due to the construction of the sections 30, a continuous circulation is set up through the headers 8, 1S, and boiler sections 30.
Depending from the inner upper wall of the respective sections 30, is a partition 32 having depending portions 33, extending downwardly a relatively short distance into the leg portions, of the sections 30, dividing the sections transversely, into compartments, which partitions, being for the purpose of blocking, to a degree, the passage of steam through the sections 30, whereupon portions of the steam condense on the partitions, the moisture being extracted, and deposited in the lower portion of the boiler proper, Where the same mingles with the water of the boiler, and is again converted into steam.
From the foregoing it is obvious that the steam, on its passage through the upper portions of the sections 30, is dried, due to its engagement with the partitions 32, with the result that the same is delivered to the heating system, not shown, in a dry and eX- ceedingly hot condition.
While I have illustrated the boiler as used in connection with steam heating plants, it is to be understood that I may by substituting a section for the section 20, which section being formed without a partition 25, use the boiler in connection with hot water systems.
Having thus described my invention, what is claimed is 1. In a steam boiler construction, header sections, archshaped boiler sections disposed between, and in communication with the header sections, a partition disposed within each of the arch-shaped boiler sections, said partitions adapted to obstruct the passage of steam throughthe upper portions of the boiler sections, a reservoir torn ing a part of one of the header sections, and a plurality of superimposed horizontal water tubes having communication with the reservoir.
2. In a steam boiler construction, header sections, arch-shaped boiler sections positioned between the header sections, one of the header sections including a lower section, an upper section, a reservoir disposed between the upper and lower sections, a partition within the upper section, providing upper and lower compartments, a superheater having one end thereof in communication with the upper compartment, the lower end thereof having communication with the lower compartment.
