Be it known that l, Enero el'. BUSH, a citizen of the United States, residing at East St. Louis, in the county of St. Clair and State ot illinois, have invented certain new and useful improvements in a Portable Bathing Apparatus, of which the following is a specification.

rlhis invention relates to water heating apparatus, and has for one ot its objects to provide a portable generator, a portable water tank coupled to the generator, and a portable bath tub.

invention consists in certain novel featuresof construction as hereinafter shown and described and then specilically pointed out in the claims, and in the drawing illustrative of the preferred embodiment of the invention.

rllhe improved apparatus includes a generator represented as a whole at 10 and adapted to be disposed upon any suitable means for heating the water therein, tor instance a cooking stove or range represented conventionally at 11.

lnlet and outlet metal pipes 12 and 13 are connected to the generator 10 near the top and bottom, as shown, these pipes being ot suliicient length so that sections of rubber hose 14 and 15 may be attached thereto at a saie distance from the stove or other source of heat.

The water tank portion of the improved apparatus comprises L tank or drum 1b of any required size or capacity and supported lor movement from place to place as required.

The support for the tank includes a lower ring or band 17 preferably formed from ran L-bar bent to circular shape and the ends welded or riveted, with the horizontal web directed inwardly to form a rest for the tank. The tank support also includes an upper band 18 surrouunding the tank and coupled to the lower band 17 by a plurality ot straps or standards 19.

The standards 19 are likewise connected at suitable intervals by intermediate bands or hoops 20, and one of the standards is supplied with a hose supporting hook 21.

rlhe tank 16 is provided with a removable cover 25, preferably hinged thereto as at 26, and having an opening provided with a supplemental cover 28.

rlhe tank 16 is provided with a hose connection 31 including a controlling valve 82 at its lower end and a similar hose connection 33 including a controlling valve 34, intermediate the ends. rlhe hose section 14 is coupled to the connection 31, while the hose section 15 is coupled to the connection 33.

By this means it will be obvious, that applied to the generator 10, the water will be caused to rapidly circulate through the generator 4and tank, and the water in the tank uniformly and rapidly heated.

The bath tub portion ot the improved ap- Jaratus is ot the usual form and represented as a whole at 3?. The bathtub is portably and detachably supported in a crate or frame similar to the crate or frame of the tank, and comprises a lower rectangular member 3S preferably formed ot an Il. bar with the horizontal web directed inwardly and forming a seat tor the tub. The tub support also includes a rectangular band 39 encompassing the tub near the top and coupled to the member 38 by a plurality of straps 40.

Attached to the member 38 at its corners are leg members 41 each having a caster 42 to enable the tub to be moved from place to place.

rEhe discharge of the tub is represented at 43 and includes a plug member 44 connected by a chain 45 to the tub, in the usual manner.

A section of hose 46 is attached to the discharge 43, to enable the contents of the tub to be discharged at a convenient distance from the tub, the hose 46 being supported by suitable hooks 47 on the tub frame, as shown when'not in use.

The hose section 24 is employed to supply the heated water from the tank to the tub, and the hose is engaged over the hook 21 when notin use.

By this simple arrangement,V a convenient portable bathing apparatus is produced which may be carried to any convenient room containing a stove or other heating appliance of any character, and a water main spigot. By this means a house not supplied with a bath reom of the ordinary construction may he supplied with conven ient bathing facilities. After the bathing operation, the tub may be wheeled to any convenient place and the hose 46 utilized to discharge the contents of the tub.

The improved apparatus is simple in construction, can be inexpensively manufactured and operates effectually for the purposes described. Y

The preferred embodiment of the invention is disclosed in the drawing and set forth in the specification, but it will be understood that any modifications within the scope of the claims may be made in the construction without departing from the principle of the invention or sacrificing any of its advantages.

I claim:

1.V In an apparatus of the class described, a supporting frame open at the ends and having a plurality of supporting legs, a closed water tank within said frame, a discharge pipe connected into the bottom of the water tank through the open bottom of the frame7 .and extended laterally between one pair of said legs, feed pipes connected into said water tank in spaced relation, a generator, connecting means between said generator and said feed pipes, and means for supplying water to said water tank.

2. In an apparatus of the class described, a supporting frame open at the ends and having a plurality of supporting legs, closed water tank within said frame, a discharge pipe connected into the bottom of the water tank through the open bottom of the frame, and extended laterally between one pair of said legs,V feed pipes connected into said water tank in spaced relation, a genera tor, connecting means between said generator and said feed pipes, a receptacle7 and conducting means between the discharge pipe of the water tank and the receptacle.
