IMPROVEMENT IN RESERVOIR COOKlNG-STOVES.-
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 137,500, dated April 1, 1873 application filed January 24, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY STEPHENs, of St. Louis, in the county of St. Louis and in the State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Stove; and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and-exact descriptiouthereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon making a part of this specification.
The nature of my invention consists in the construction and arrangement of the parts of a cooking-stove, as more fully hereinafter described.
In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, I will now proceed to describe its construction and operation, referring to the annexed drawing, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view, and Fig. 2 a longitudinal vertical section, of my stove.
A represents the top plate, and B B the sides, of a rectangular cast-iron cookingstove. O is the usual baking-oven, D the fire-box, and E the ash-pit of the same. In front of the fire-box D is located a water-reservoir, G, which extends down to a horizontal plate, H, extending in front of the ash-pit. The reservoir G is so arranged with relation to the fireboxD that the back of the reservoir forms the front wall of the fire-box with direct action of the fire, thus giving a large amount of boiling water all the time, and in a very short a is a faucet to draw ofl' water.

Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-- The within-described cooking-stove, con sisting of the casing A B, oven 0, fire-box D, ash-pit E, reservoir G with its back forming the fire-box front, the plate H, and the front oven J, all constructed substantially as shown,
and for the purposes set forth.
