UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
' MARY J. 'CHEESEMAN, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
TEA-CART.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Mar. 8, 1921.
Application filed December 30, 1918. Serial No. 268,835.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MARY J. CHEEsnMAN, a citizen of the United States, residingat New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain I from room toroom.
A further object of the invention is to provide a combined tea table and stove.
A still further object of the invention is to provide a stove mounted upon wheels whereby it may easily be moved from room to room as desired.
'With the above and such other objects in view as may appear in the following specification, 1 have invented the device illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which Figure 1 is an elevationalview of my device.
Fig. 2 is a similar view with the door of a stove compartment closed.
Fig. 3 is a top plan view.
Fig. 4 is an end elevation.
Fig. 5 is an enlarged perspective view of an oven, and
Fig. 6 is a bottom plan viewthereof.
Like reference characters indicate like parts throughout the following specification and in the several views in the drawings in which 1 indicates a cart consisting of a frame work 2 supporting shelves 3 and 4 and a table 5,said shelf 3 having an axle 6 secured to its under forward portion upon which are mounted rubber tired wheels 7 and 8. The frame members 9 and 10 extend down to form legs 11 and 12, having caster wheels- 13 and 14 mounted upon their lower ends. Between the shelf 3 and table 5 is a compartment 15 having a door 15 in which is removably seated an oven 16 the upper wall 17 of which has an opening 18 alining with a similar opening 19 slightly larger in diameter than the first opening, said wall 17 being spaced apart a slight distance from the table top 5, so that the'part 2 may seat down in opening 19 and upon wall 17 and over opening 18. This arrangement will not only hold heat around the lower portion of the pot but will prevent the same from being accidentally overturned. 'An electric heater 21 and a gas burner 22 are provided in the bottom 23 of the oven, the latter having a feed P p 24: and theformer a feed line 25 with socket 27, all terminating short of the oven wall 28, but alining with openings 29 and 30 in the wall 31 of compartment 15, whereby a gas tube 32 or a feed wire 33 may be attached. These feed lines may be connected with permanent lighting fixtures in any room. A towel rack 34'? is mounted upon frame member 10 and brackets 35 and 36 mounted upon frame members 9 and 10 support the wagon handle 37. 38 and 39 are soapstone disks or plates which may be heated before being placed in the oven.
A drawer 40 is provided for holding. the accessories such .as gas and electric attachments, heating plates, etc. The drawer is provided with runners 41 and '42 operating on tracks 43' and 44 on the cart. Bolts 45 and 46' are for. engaging the openings 47 and 48 in the legs 49 and 50 of the stove or oven 16 so that the latter maybe secured in place to prevent the same from slipping in moving the cart. Openings 51 are provided in the bottom wall 52 of the stove toadmit air to the burners.
Some of the many uses to which the inclothes. It may be used as a heater for any room, being easily rolled from place to place. The disks 38 and 39 may be heated in any convenient stove and placed in the oven 16 and retain heat there for hours, and for the purpose of keeping food warm at a meal it will not be necessary to turn on the auxiliary heaters 21 and 22. The oven 16 being removable the compartment 15 can be used as a cupboard or for moving articles from place tofplace.
Having now described my invention that which I claim to be new and patentable is:
1. The combination of a tea cart provided with large forward wheels and small rear wheels, a table having arecess thereunder, and a stove removably mounted within said a recess, sald-stovethavmg an openmg in its upper wall and said table having an opening alining with the first opening.
2'. The combination of a tea cart provided with large forward wheels and small rear wheels, a table having a recess thereunder, and a stove removably mounted within said recess, said stove having an opening in its upper wall and. said table having an opening alining with the fiist opening, said stove havin an inclosed oven. J
3. device of the character described consisting of a cart, a table and a stove mounted under and spaced apart from said table, said table having an opening alining 15 with an opening in the top. wall of saidstove.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
MARY J. CHEESE-MAN.
Witnesses: I MARIE MAJOR, ANNA REED.
