IMPROVEMENT IN MEDICAL COMPOUNDS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 136,937, dated March 18, 1873.
the cinchona of South America, to be one of natures provisions to counteractthe diseases incident to the climate where it grows.
The essence of Jamaica ginger and simple sirup are prepared according to the formula of the United States Dispensatory.
These ingredients, when thoroughly combined, form my improved specific for diarrhea, cholera, dysentery, and diseases of the bowels generally. The dose varies from five-drops to a teaspoonful, according to age, given at periods varying from half an hour to two hours, according to circumstances.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The above-described medicinal compound, substantially as set forth.

Be it known that I, JOSEPH L. PUTEGNAT, of Brownsville, in the county of Cameron and State of Texas, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Medical Compound, of which the following is a specification:
This invention and discovery relates to the V curative art and consists in a compound composed of the ingredients hereinafter named in about the proportions specified.
Formula Fluid extract amargosa root, four fluid drams; essence of Jamaica ginger, one fluid ounce; pure glycerine, twelve fluid drams; simple sirup, one fluid ounce.
