SOLOMOL FIELD, OF GALVA, ILLINOIS.
IMPROVEMENT IN MEDICAL COMPOUNDS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 145,560, dated December 16, 1873; application filed 1 November 15, 1873.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, Dr. SOLOMON FIELD, of Galva, in the county of Henry and State of Illinois, have invented a new Medical Oompound for purifying the blood and operating upon the liver, of which the following is a specification My new medical compound is composed of butternut-root bark, forty pounds; sarsaparilla root, six pounds; sassafras-root bark, six pounds; wahoo-root bark, four pounds; dandelion root, four pounds; mandrake root, four pounds Wild-cherry bark, four pounds; and white-popple bark, four pounds, mixed and -boiled in one hundred and twenty gallons of Water from one to. one and a half hour. I then add suflicient alcohol to the mixture to preserve it-say, one gallon of alcohol to every ten gallons of the mixture.
The compound may also be made of the oxtracts of the above-named ingredients mixed in the proportion above given.
What I claim is- A medical compound composed of the abovenamed ingredients, in the proportion given, substantially as and for the purpose specified.
