LOVELL T. RICHARDSON, OF AUBURN, NEW YORK.
IMPROVEMENT IN mss FCR l-'orzrsnna HOE-PLATES'.
Specification forming partof Letters Patent No. 136,672, dated March 11, 1873.
To all whom t may concern a Beit known that I, LovELI. T. RICHARDSON, of Auburn, in theeounty of Cayuga and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Dies for lPlating Planters Hoes, of which the followin g is a specification:
This invention relates to dies which are used in steam, water, or other power hammers for plating planters hoes from the blanks before they are rolled ont and consists in the construction and arrangement of the dies by means of which the operation of plating is greatly facilitated. lIt also consists in the plate prepared thereby.
In the accompanying drawing, Figure l represents a vertical section of the two dies taken on the line x a: of Fig. 2. Fig. 2 is a side View. Fig. 3 is a face View of the upper or hammer die. I Fig. 4 is a face View of the lower or bed die. Fig. 5 represents the blank from which the hoe is made. Fig. Gis a plate which has been operated upon by t-he dies and f made ready for the rollers.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.

as gage-dies, but differ in their construc` tion from any gage-dies in use.
The operation of plating hoes is greatly facilitated, and much valuable time is saved by their use.
J is a plate prepared by these dies. K is the rib form-ed on the face of the plate.
Having thus described my invention, I-
claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The dies E and F, constructed and arranged, substantially as shown and described, for plating planters hoes as specified.
