Iowa, have invented certain new and useiul Improvements in Delivery Devices for Llqu d Disinfectants, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to improvements in delivery devices for liquid disinfectants, and the object of my impro'vementis to supply a device of this class for use in a watercloset having a swinging seat; and operated to deliver a liquid disinfectant when the seat is swung down and away from its normally raised position. V

This object has been accomplished by the means which are hereinafter described and claimed, and which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is Y a perspective view of a closet having a swingiru seat which is normally kept in a raised position by the gravity of the disin- "liectant holding and delivering device at tached thereto; Fig. 2 is a medial vertical longitudinal section of the same, and Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the seat and attached devices as separated from the closet-bowl, the seat being shown in section.

In said views, similar numerals of reference denote similar parts.

I have shown a stoneware suction jet water-closet bowl 1 of a well known type, but the device of my invention is suitable for use on any kind of closet bowl. The

numeral 2 denotes a light but rigid orificed seat to be hingcdly mounted at one end on the rear part of the bowl to swing up and down. The rear part of the seat isscrolled and the scrolls fixedly mounted on a transverse pintle-rod 5 so that the seat and rod may rock back and forth together as said rod is seated to rock in an intermediate scroll 3 on a plate 4 fixedly secured to the top of the rear part of the bowl. 6 is a sleeve fixedly and removably secured on an end of the rod 5 by means of a set-screw. and said sleeve has an integral oppositely disposed sleeve-member 7 whichis removably and fixedly mounted on a hollow cylindrical spout 8 by means of a set-screw. The

forward end of the spout extends under and in contact with one side of the under surface of the downwardly concaved seat 2, and the forward extremity of the spout is bent downwardly. The other end of the spout traverses and is secured in an opening 1n. a screw-cap 9.mounted onv a hollow vessel A short angular air-relief tube 11 also traverses and is fixed in said screw cap, as shown in Fig. 2. It will be seen that when the vessel 10 is filled with a liquid disinfectant or other liquid preparation, it will ordinarily, be heavy enough to overbalance the seat 2 and the forward part of the spout 8 so as to keep the seat normally raised, as shown in said Fig. 1. In this position, as the spout 8 is directed upwardly, none of the liquid can escape from the vessel 10. Only when the seat 2 has been lowered to the position shown in Fig. 2, will a portion of the liquid in said vessel 10 be delivered through the spout 8 into the contents of the bowl 1.

The vessel 10 should be made with thick, heavy walls so that even when empty, its weight, alone, will similarly overbalance the seat 2 to keep .it in its raised position. In case the vessel 10 is supplied in the shape of a ready filled metal can of light weight, it is obvious that some weight or heavy body may be removablysecured thereon to provide the proper gravity.

Either one or two vessels 10 may be mounted on the rod 5, and in Fig. 1, two of them are shown so'm'ounted on the rod on opposite sides of the bowl, which thus equalizes the action thereof on the seat.

Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:

1. In combination, an open top recepta ole, an orificed seat pivotally mounted atone end to swing toward and from said receptacle,.and a; counterweight heavier than and connected to said seat at the opposite side of said pivotal connection, said counterweight comprising a hollow closed vessel and a spout extending therefrom past said pivotal connection to deliver into said receptacle when the seat is in its lower po sition.

2. In combination, an open top receptacle,
