To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JULIUS R. DROZESKI, a citizen of the United States, residing at Erie, in the county of Erie and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bathtub-Fixtures; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, forming part of this specification.

My invention relates to bath tub fixtures, and more particularly to means for connecting a bath tub shower device to the water inlet fixture. of a bath tub.

The features of my invention are hereinafter particularly explained and pointed out and are illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which:

Figure 1, is a-longitudinal section of a fragment of a bath tub showing my device partially in section and partially in elevation thereon. Fig. 2, is a front view of the same.

In these drawings A indicates a fragment of a bath tub having secured therein a water inlet fixture B having an orifice 7) at the lower side thereof, through which the water can flow into the tub. This fixture B is of usual construction and forms no part of my invention. the object of which is to construct a fixture for connecting a bath tub shower device so as to conduct water from the ori- (ice 7) to said shower device (not shown).

For this purpose I provide a bowl like memher 1 adapted to cover the fixture B and is secured to said fixture by means of the screw threaded post D whichis inserted through a hole drilled in the center of the fixture D and screwed into a nut E which is inserted into the fixture B through the orifice b and held in place by the wire 6 secured to said nut E, and then a lock nut c is placed upon the screw threaded post D to hold the same firn'ily in place with reference to the fixture B, the screw threaded post D extending outwardly from the lock nut 6 through a central hole in the bowl like member 0, and a nut F is then secured upon the screw threaded post D by means of which the fixture member is held in place so that the same incloses the fixture B leaving a space between the fixture B and the fixture (J from which space a tubular passage G leads to a pipe H and thence to a main stem H of the shower device (not shown). I indicates a branch from the pipe H. J indicates a discharge valve thereon through which water may be drawn for the purpose of filling the tub A. C indicates a gasket between the edge of the fixture C and the surface of the tub to prevent the escape of water between the fixture and the tub.

Having thus fully described my invention so as to enable others to utilize the same, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

l. The combination in a device of the class described of a screw threaded post secured in the water inlet fixture, a bowl like member adapted to inclose said fixture having a central opening therein to receive said screw threaded post, a gasket between said bowl like member and the surface of the tub, and a nut on said screw threaded post adapted to hold said bowl like fixture in position thereon and means to connect a shower device to said bowl like fixture, substantially as described.

2. The combination of a bath tub, a water inlet fixture secured in the wall thereof having a central opening in the face of said fixture, a screw threaded post secured in said opening and extending outwardly therefrom, a bowl like member having a central opening therethrough to receive said screw threaded post, and having a radial, tubular passage leading therefrom, a gasket secured in the edge of said bowl like member, a nut on said screw threaded post adapted to force said bowl like member against said gasket and press the same against the side of the tub, and means to connect a shower device to said bowl like member, substantially as described.
