To all whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANK EooLns, a subject of the King of Great Britain and Ireland, residing at Redcar, in the county of York, England, have invented new and useful Motor-Vehicle Circuit-Locks, of which the following is a specification.
In order to prevent the theft of motor cars, motor cycles and similar motor driven vehicles, when left unattended, it has hitherto been proposed to employ a combination lock partially housed in a casing with a hinged cover, the said lock operating a sliding bar provided with U shaped resilient contacts adapted to be engaged with or disengaged from .a pair of parallelly placed stationary contacts connected with the ignition system. My invention consists in an improved means whereby the connection between the accumulator and the sparking plug or plugs, and/ or between the magneto and the sparking plug` or plugs, can be broken instantly by a person leaving the vehicle and can be quickly remade on the return, which means comprise a casing in opposite sides of which are secured socket terminals of the wiring to and from the parts named, and with one of which sockets a sliding plug is adapted to be continuously engaged, but with the other socket, to be engaged or withdrawn by the action of a key operated lock having a connection with the said sliding plug.
My invention will be better understood on reference to the accompanying sheet of drawings, in which Figure l, is a sectional elevation of my im proved device showing a sliding plug op erated by lock mechanism.

From the foregoing it will be understood that with a car iitted with my improved device, the driver on leaving the car unattended can withdraw the sliding plug by means of a key, thus rendering it quite impossible for the car to be started by any unauthorized person, since the engine could not be operated by reason of the electrical connections being temporarily broken.
On the return of the driver the re-instaten in the cas- `ment of the plug occupies but a very brief time, when the car will be ready for starting so far as the electrical firing of the charge is concerned.
