Be it known that I, LILLIAN M. Barman, a citizen of the United States, residing at San Francisco, in the county of San Francisco and State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Flesh-Reducing Garments, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to garments intended to be worn by a person to reduce or eliminate fatt tissues or abnormal fleshy enlargements for the purpose of improving her health and figure.

The object of the invention is to produce a simple and convenient garment of the character specified which is constructed of rubber, or an equivalent material, and composed of a plurality of adjustably connected members which are arranged to be regulated to fit the wearer and to compensate for changes in shape and size.

With these ends in view, the invention consists in certain details of construction, adaptation and combination of the component parts of a garment as hereinafter described and claimed.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of a garment embodying the present invention shown applied. Fig. 2 is an outside expanded view of the garment illustrated 1n Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a detail sectional view through 3-3 of Fig. 2.

The garment, as shown in the drawings, comprises a back member 5 connected at its opposite sides to two complementary front members 6 and 7 which, in turn, are an ranged to be connected together.

Said members are constructed of a ma terial impervious to moisture and having elastic characteristics such as rubber or a composition of rubber with other suitable material.

The several aforesaid members are cut or formed to provide recesses 8 within the garment to accommodate the wearers arms.

At its opposite sides the back member 5 is provided with tabs 5 adapted to extend onto the shoulder and into proximity of tabs 6 and 7 provided on the respective front members. Eyelets 9 are provided adjacent to the side edges of said members to receive lacings 10 whereby the members are adjustably connected together. In likemanner, lacings 1O engaging in eyelets 9 1n the tabs 5 6 and 7 serve to adjustably connect the latter over the shoulders.

Flaps 11 are provided interiorly of the garment at each of its lacing connections to serve as flies for preventing the flesh being plnched or chafed at the joints.

12 represents binding strips provided along the adjacent edges of said members to reinforce the same thereat and afford security to the eyelets.

The above described garment is desirably worn in direct contact with a persons body, although good results may be obtained if it is used as some people prefer over a vest of very thin fabric or gauze but with slower results in the removal or reduction of fatty tlssue.

The garment is preferably worn during a womans periods of exercising as when walking, attending to her housework or, in fact, when performing actions which produce perspiration.

Among the advantages of my invention is in the adaptability of the garment to be adjusted to fit the body and one which may be taken in or reduced in size by means of the lacings to compensate for the elimination of fatty tissues. Furthermore, a selected one of the sections, as the back for example, may be taken out and replaced by a section of fabric instead of rubber should the fatty tissue on the back or shoulders disappear before that on the bust. A still further advantage resides in the disposition of the lacing connection which may be regulated to impart local pressures as may be required.

In the illustrated embodiment of my invention I show a garment of the waist type but it is to be understood that I do not thereby limit myself as it is obvious that the garment may be made to various lengths and may make such changes and alterations as fall within the spirit and scope of the ap pended claims.

What I claim, is-

1. A flesh-reducing garment, made of an elastic impervious material comprising back and front members, lacings connecting said iembers together under the arms and over the shoulders, and flies provided interiorly of the garment at the respective lacing connections.

2. A flesh-reducing garment made of an elastic impervious material comprising a back member and two complementary front members, said rear and front members having tab elements extending upon the shoulders into proximity to each other eyelets provided in proximity to the adjacent edges of said members, and lacings engaging in said eyelets to afford adjustable connections between the several members so as to regulate the compressive action of the garment upon the wearer.

3. A flesh-reducing garment made of an elastic impervious material adapted to in case the trunk portion and the shoulders of a persons body, said garment being com posed of sections removably connected to each other about the trunk and above the shoulders, whereby a selected section may be replaced by another section, and means 15 LILLIAN M.
