Description
Patented Oct. 26, 1920.
WITNESS:
INVENTOR ATTORNEY UNITED STATES WILLIAM H. NICHOLAS, 0F PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA.
GAME.
Application filed April 30,
T 0 all whom it may concern Be it known that I, WILLIAM H. NIcrIoLAs, a citizen of the United States, residing at Pittsburgh, in the county of Allegheny and State of Penns lvania, have 'invented new and useful mprovements in Games, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a game board, the principal object of the invention being to provide a game in which one or more players may take part and which consists of a plurality of paths, each provided with spaces, and over which the game pieces are moved in accordance with the throwing of a die.
Another object of the invention is to provide a series of sets of numbers which are to be used in conjunction with the device for checking the advance of the opponent player.
In describing my invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying .drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which:
The figure is a view showing the arrangement of the paths and other markings on the face of the board. 7
A shown in this view the face of the board 1 has marked thereon in any suitable manner four paths 2, each path consisting of a concentric part 3 and a radial outer part 4:. Each path is colored in a distinctive manner from the other paths and each path is also divided into a pluralityof spaces by the cross lines 5. A circle 6 is arranged in the center of the board and this circle is divided into quarters and each quarter colored with a color similar to that of one of the paths, Small circles 7 are drawn on each quarter and each circle is consecutively numbered from 1 to 8. The game can be played by two, three or four players, each player hav: ing a game piece to move along the path taken by the player. The game is played with-a single die, each player throwing the die in turn. The player moves his piece a Specification of Letters Patent.

number of spaces corresponding to the number turned up by the die but if the die falls upon one of the numbered circles of his opponents segment, said opponent has to move back his piece a number of spaces corresponding to the number of the circle upon which the die falls. If the number which is turned up on the die corresponds with the number of the circle upon which it falls the opponent has to start at the beginning.
In example, if two persons are playing, 1
one using the green path and segment, the other using the red path and segment, and the one who is playing on the red path throws the die and it rests upon circle numbered 5 of the green segment, then the other player must move back five spaces, assuming that the die does not turn up 5; but if 5 is turned up on the die also then the one playing on the green path must go home and start over. On the other hand, if the die does not fall upon any of the circles of the green segment then the player having the red path moves up the number of spaces corresponding to the number turned up on the die.
It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.
I desire it to be understood that I may make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.
What I claim is p A game board having a plurality of paths upon its face, each path comprising a concentric portion anda radial portion and each path being divided into a plurality of spaces, a circle in the space formed by the concentric portion of the inner path, said circle being divided into quarters, each quarter having a set of numbers thereon and each WILLIAM H.
