Be it lrnown'that I, LEANDER F. ST. CYn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Springfield, in the county or Hampdcn and State of Massachusetts, have invented cer tain new and useful Improvements in Com hined Trundles and Operating-Handles 'lherefor, or which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to trundles, for toy rolling hoops, and a handle for operating the same, and an object oi": the invention is to provide a trunole' or hoop rolling handle which is comparatively simple in construc tion, and forms a support for carrying plurality of articles such as flags, and pin wheels, to lend attractivcness to the handle structure.

A further object of the invention is to provide a hoop engaging portion for the handle comprising pair of spaced spring tongues having a constricted entrance to the hoop receiving portion thereof for preventing accidental disconnection of the hoop and handle, and which tongues are spaced a sufficient distance to allow free unimpeded rotation of the hoop.

More specifically, the invention comprehends the provision of a handle for rolling toy hoops or trundles which has a standard attached thereto intermediate its ends upon the upper end of which standard .a support is mounted adapted to turn a plurality of flags and pin wheels, which will fly and rotate respectively during the rolling of the hoop.

Other objects of the invention will appear from the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification and in which drawings:

Figure 1 is a front elevation of the improved handle showing it connected to a part of a hoop.

The handle structure 12 includes a straight bar 13 which normally rests in a horizontal plane during the rolling of the hoop and which has a hand grip 14: upon one end and the hoop engaging portion upon its o1; posite end. The hoop engaging portion 1 comprises a collar or sleeve 15 which mounted over the end of the bar or rod 1 and which sleeve or collar has a pair 01 "formed upon and extending outwardly from its outer end. The resilient tongues 16 and 17 are bowed, at cent their connez ti n with the sleeve to provide a relatively wide space which receives the hook 10 therein to permit free and unimpeded rotation of the hoop.

In a toy, an operating handle for hoops comprising a rod, hoop engaging ineans carried upon one end of said rod a hand grip upon the opposite end of the rod, a standard carried by said rod intermediate its ends, a carrying support upon said standard, and means for attaching a plurality of articles to said carrying support.
