T 0 all whom it may concern Be it known that I, ERICK Enroxsoiv, a citizen of the United States, residing at Minneapolis, in the county of Hennepin and State of Minnesota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bag-Holders; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

My invention has for its object to provide an extremely simple and highly efficient bag holder, and to this end, it consists of the novel devices and combinations of devices hereinafter described and defined in the claims.

Referring to the drawings 2- Figure 1 is a perspective view of the improved bag holder having secured thereto a bag diagrammatically illustrated by means of broken lines;

The numeral 6 indicates a base having a standard 7 on which is mounted a vertically adjustable horizontal arm 8 held in position by a binding screw 9. A horizontally disposed transversely divided rim 10 is provided for holding a bag Z with the mouth thereof open. The ends of this rim 10 are overlapped and adjustably connected by a thumb-nut-equipped clamp 11. By reference to Fig. 3, it will be noted that the outer end of the rim 10 is bent laterally to prevent the clamp 11 from becoming detached therefrom. The purpose of transversely dividing and overlapping the ends of the rim 10 is to permit the same to be circumferentially expanded or contracted to fit in different size bags. To prevent swingingmovement of the rim l0 and hail 13, there is provided an upright rod 16 having on its lower end a hook 17 adapted to interlock with said rim from the inside. The upper end of the rod 16 extends through a longitudinally extended slot 18 formed in the arm 8 and is adjustably secured to said arm against both endwise and lateral movement in the slot 18 by a pair of opposing nuts 19, which have screw-threaded engagement therewith.

To secure the bag Z to the rim 10 and draw the same over the flange 12, there is provided a binding cord 20, one end of which is attached to the rim 8 at 21 and the other end thereof is attached to a sliding clamp 22 on the rim 10. This binding cord 20 extends completely around the rim 10 with its ends overlapped for a considerable distance to hold the bag Ztightly against the rim 10 at all points, so'that the same can not slip downward over the flange 12.

In applying a bag to the rim 10, the clamp 22 is first moved in a direction to produce slack in the bindingcord 20 to permit the mouth of the bag to be placed around the rim 10 and under the binding cord 20. The cord 20 is then tightly drawn around the sack Z and secured by the clamp 22 to hold the same on the rim 10 and over the flange 12. By loosening the clamp 11, the rim 10 may be circumferentially adjusted to fit within bags of different sizes, and the purpose of the two part bail 13 is to permit this adjustment of the rim. After the rim 10 is properly adjusted to a bag, the rod 16 may be adjusted in the slot 18 and secured by the nuts 19 to prevent swinging movement of the rim 10 and hail 13. The arm 8 may be raised or lowered to adjust the bag holder for bags of different lengths.
