IMPROVEMENT IN LEvMON-SQUEEZERS, &c.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 136,067, dated January 21, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ABRAM BAssFoRD, of the city of Fort Wayne, in the county of Allen and State ot' Indiana, have invented a new and useful Improvement in FruitPress ers, especially adapted for expressing the juice from lemons, oranges, Snc.; and I do hereby declare the. following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing making a part of this specification, in which- The figure is a transverse vertical section of a fruit-presser made in accordance with my invention.
This invention relates to a new and improved apparatus for expressing the juice from lemons, oranges, 8vo., in such a manner as to prevent any waste, and secure a great saving of .time and labor. f

It will be seen that by raising the lever c and placing a cup or receptacle containing the fruit to be pressed upon the rubber or leather cushion at k, then by bringing down the lever c the presser a comes in contact with the fruit, and by a slight pressure upon the lever c the juices are thereby expressed and remain in the cup or receptacle for future use.
The elastic pad or cushion 'k is of importance, as it forms for the tumbler, or other receptacle placed thereon, a support which is not rigid but yielding, adapting itself to any irregularities in the bottom of the tumbler when the latter is pressed down, and preventing liability of the tumbler being cracked or broken by the pressure.
