Specification of Letters Patent.

Be it known that I, HENRY AsMAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Evansville, in the county of Vanderburg and State of Indiana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combined Double-Ended Sleds and Wagons, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a combined double ended sled and wagon.
An important object of the invention is to provide a coasting sled or wagon which is double ended.
A further object is to provide a device of the above character which is readily changeable from a sled to a wagon and vice versa.
Other objects and advantages will be apparent throughout the course of the following discussion.
In the accompanying drawings wherein for the purpose of illustration is shown a preferred embodiment of my invention and wherein like numerals designate like parts throughout,

Fig. 2 is a transverse section taken therethrough.
Referring now more particularly to the drawings the numeral 10 indicates a body portion or platform preferably having its ends pointed as at 11.
An inverted U-shaped bracket 12 is secured to the under face of the body portion 10 by means of bolts 13 adjacent each end thereof.
Each of the brackets 12 is provided in the arms thereof with pairs of alined open ings 141-14; and 15-15 adapted to interchangeably receive axles 16. The ends of the axles 16 are threaded as at 17 for the reception of suitable retaining elements such as nuts 18. Rotatably mounted upon the axles 16 intermediate the arms of the brackets 12 are wheels 19 positioned by means of collars 20.
It will be seen by inspecting Fig. 2 that when the axles 16 are placed in the openings 14 the wheels 19 are raised above the ground and that when the axles are placed in the openings 15 these wheels Vare suffi ciently lower to engage the ground.
The lower ends of the arms of the U are outbent as at 21. Runners 22 are provided secured to the outbent ends 21 by means of bolts 23 or the like. The heads of the bolts 23 being countersunk so as to provide a smooth surface upon the end face of the runners 22. The ends of the runners 22 are bent upwardly and converge as at 23 and are secured together at their ends as at 25 providing two similar ends fory the runners. l It will be seen that the vehicle shown is exactly similar at both ends and accordingly may be operated in either direction. It will also be seen that by releasing the retaining members 18 the arms of the brackets 12 may be sprung suiiiciently to release the axles 1G to allow of their being placed in the other set of openings.
What I claim is:
1. In a vehicle of the type described, a body portion, spaced brackets secured to the under surface of said body portion and provided with depending resilient arms having pairs of alined openings formed therein, axles interchangeably fitting said openings,
wheels rotatably mounted on said axles and Y runners secured to the lower ends of the arms of said brackets, the ends of said runners being inclined upwardly and converging and being secured together.
2, In a vehicle of the type described, a body portion, brackets secured to said body portion adjacent the ends thereof and provided with depending resilient arms having alined pairs of openings formed therein, axles interchangeably tting said openings, runners secured to the lower ends of said arms, wheels rotatably mounted upon said axles, the diameter of said wheels being such that the wheels project below the runners for contact with the ground when the axles are arranged in the lowermost pair of openings and are disposed above said runners and free from contact with the ground when the axles are arranged in the uppermost pairs of openings.

In a vehicle of the type described, a body portion, spaced brackets secured to the under surface of said body portion and pro vided with depending resilient arms havingv pairs of alined openings therein, axles inter changeably fitting said openings, Wheels rotatably mounted on said axles, and {iatrunners secured to the lower ends of nthe arms of said brackets, the ends of said runners converging inwardly and upwardly and being secured together, the said ends of the
