Be it known that I, AUGUST JAEGER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of Grand Rapids, in the county of Kent and State of Michigan have invented a new and Improved Draw-loard Fastener, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
This invention relates to improvements in draw board fasteners, anobject of the invention being to provide an improved fastener which is especially adapted for securing a drawboard against movement and which permits the easy removal of the fastener when desired.
Draw boards such as are commonly used in loading and unloading freight cars from or onto piers, docks, platforms, etc., have heretofore been Spikes driven through the board itself, and

With my improved device the board or the platform is not injured and the board is securely held, and the fasteners can be conveniently and quickly removed when desired. v
With these and other objects in view, the invention consists in certain novel features of construction and combinations and arrangements of parts as will be more fully hereinafter described and pointed out in the claims.. c

The board 3 is held against movement by my improved fasteners 4, any desired'number being employed at each end of the board, although in many cases one 4fastener 'at each end will be all that is necessary.
The fastener 4 comprises arelatively wide head 5 having at each end integral webs 6 extending from the rear edge of the head to a point removed frm the front edge thereheld by ordinary nails or of so that a lip 7 is provided in advancev of the webs 6 to'overlap the draw board 3 with the end of the draw board located against the forward ends of the webs.
The webs are preferably of substantially the same thickness as a draw board so they have a firm bearing against the Hoor and are held against rearward movement by a pair of- sharp prongs 8, 8, which are integral with the webs 6, 6, and extend downwardly from the same at their forward ends.
The prongs are preferably circular in cross-section and taper to their lower pointed ends so that they can be convemently driven in the iioor and easily removed without damaging the floor.
