IMPROVEMENT IN MEDICAL COMPOUNDS FOR HORSES, &c.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 534,721, dated January 14, 1S73.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAMES ANDREWS, of Hardin county, Ohio, have invented a certain Compound for Cure of Lameness in the Goffin- Joint of Horses, of which the following is a specification:
Ihe nature of the invention consists in mixing one-half pint best lubricating oil, one-half pint spirits turpentine, one ounce carbonate ammonia, one and one fourth ounce gum camphor, three-fourths of an ounce gum myrrh, one-half ounce gum guaiacum, one-half drain cayenne pepper, one-half dram oil anise, one pint Whisky, all to be mixed and to stand ten days.
Mode of application: About one tea-spoonful to be poured into the hollow of the ankle, immediately behind the coffin-joint, so as to penetrate that joint also a small quantity to be applied to the front of the foot immediately above the hoof, just in the edge of the hair.
