To all whom it may concern Be it known that we, HENRY FELsEN'rHAL,

a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cookand State of Illinois, and LOUIS WV. KAEs'rNER, a 01131- Zen of the United States, residing at Chlcago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new andus'eful Improvements in Toilet-Cases, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in toilet cases, and has for its object to provide a new and improved device of that nature, in which means is provided to secure the article holding straps in proper position.

Still another object is to provide means for the disposal of the ends or tabs of such straps, so that theywill not be in the way of the user or become entangled with the arti cles carried in the holder.

Still another object resides in the provision of a new and improved slotted strip which coacts with the fastening straps.

Another object resides in the specific construction and arrangement of the protecting flaps.

These and other objects will be morefully referred to hereinafter, and shown in the I accompanying drawings, in which;

Figure 1 is a plan view showing the protecting flaps in open position;

Fig. 2 is a detail bottom view of a portion of the strip;

Fig. 3 is a vertical detail section of the same; and

, Fig. 4c'is a plan view of said detail, showing a fastener removed.

Like numerals refer to like elements throughout the drawings, in which 10 indicates generally our toilet holder comprising a main body portion 10, rectangular in the embodiment shown, upon which is suitably superimposed and secured, by sewing or the like, a smaller sheet of cloth or similar material 10, also rectangular in form the same being neither fastened nor sewed at its edge 10 so that a pocket is formed by such sheet 10 with the main body portion 10*. 11 of leather or similar material, the same being composite in form, as shown, for example, in Figs. 2 and 4, in which there is the main strip 11 having the slots 11 formed therein, whereby cross straps 11 are formed. An auxiliary strip 11 is glued, or otherwise fastened to the main strip 11*,

This construction results'in the maintaining of the straps 11 in raised position so that a fastening strap may be readily passed therebeneath, 'as will be more fully explained. Fastening straps 13 have one end secured to the sheets 10 or 10, and are insertible beneath the cross straps 11, as clearly shown in the drawings, the auxiliary strip 11 rendering such insertion easy by maintaining the cross straps 11 in raised position, and by furnishing a guide for the ends of the fastening straps 13 when the same are passed beneath'the loops, as will be obvious. When articles are carried beneath the portions of the fastening straps 13 between the cross straps 11, the fastening straps 13 may be tightened to securely hold such articles in place, and may be locked in such fastening "position by means of the locking members 12. To suitably dispose-of the free ends of the fastening straps 13 I leave portions of the adjacent edges of the sheets 10 or 1O unsewed to provide for the insertion of the free ends of the'fastening straps 13 therein some forms of article holders in present We also provide protecting flaps 14, of

suitable trapezoidal shape, sewed along one side 146 to the sides of the body portion 10 so as to extend along the entire length of the article holding portions of the sheets 10 and 10. These flaps lt are fold-able over and provided with engaging means 1 1 and let mutually engageable to secure the same in protecting relation.

The holder, when being carried, may be folded in three portions to render the device compact.

It will be apparent that our device is susceptible of many modifications and improvements, and we do not wish to be restricted to the form shown. beyond the scope of the appended claims.

IVhat we claim is: p

1. A toilet article holder comprising a body portion, a slotted strip, an adjustable strap having one end secured and passing through the slotted portions of said strip to form supporting loops, and a sheet secured to said body portion in such wise as to provide a pocket having an opening along one of its closed edges through which the free end of said strap may be inserted after the same'has been adjusted.

2. In combination with a toilet article holder, a strip secured thereto and slotted to provide cross straps, a second strip attached to and coacting with said first-named strip, said second strip being passed beneath said cross straps, and a strap, passing be+ neath said cross straps andbetween the same and said second strip.

3. In combination with a toilet article holder, a strip secured thereto and slotted to provide cross straps, a second strip attached to and coacting with said first-named strip, said second'strip passing beneath said cross straps, a strap passing beneath said cross st ups and between the same and said second strip, and a clamping means coacting with said strap to secure the same in desired position.

4. In a device of the class described, a body portion, a supporting strap, a slotted strip providing a series of cross straps adapted toreceive and hold said supporting strap, anda second strip passing beneath said cross straps and engaging the latter adjacent their opposite ends to maintaii'i the same in raised position for receiving said supporting strap.

5. In an article holder, a supporting strap, a slotted strip providing a series of cross straps, and means for maintaining said cross straps raised out of the plane of said strip to permit of said supporting strap being readily inserted there-through.
