T 0 all whom it may concern 7 Be it known that I, THOMAS F. CoNNoRs, a citizen of the United States, and resident of Bridgeport, in the county of Fairlield and State of Connecticut, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Necktie and Pin Holders, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in a combined necktie and pin holder.

The object of the invention is to provide an improved form of device of this character which may be constructed of one piece of spring wire shaped so as to be cheaply manufactured, and especially adapted to serve as a frame upon which an ordinary four-in-hand tie may be tied and supported and whereby the holder may be made to detachably engage a collar button in a mannor to support the tie.

A further feature of the invention is to provide a yieldable loop through which a scarf pin when positioned in the tie may be threaded and yieldably engaged in a manner to prevent the pin from coming out.

With these and "other objects in view the invention resides and consists in the construction and novel combination and arrangements of parts hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings, and pointed out in the claims hereto appended, it being understood that various changes in form, proportion, size and minor details of construction within the scope of the claims may be resorted to without departure from the spirit or sacrificing any of the advantages of the invention.

Figure 1 shows a front elevation of a part of a four-in-hand necktie mounted upon my necktie holder, and a pin positioned in the tie and holder.

Fig. 2 is a rear elevation of the tie, holder and pin shown in Fig. 1.

As before stated, the necktie holder is formed from one piece of wire. The end portions of the wire. are preferablybent in to form round smooth reinforced ends 66 for the outwardly disposed arms 77. The intermediate portions of the wire are bent together at 8 to shape and stiffen the structure. A further part of the intermediate portion of the wire is disposed down in the form of a loop and includes two parallel side members 9-9, an eye 10 and an enlar ed intermediate space 11. The parallel portions of the wire between the eye and space 11 are slightly spaced apart which by reason of the yieldability of the wire may he further separated when the shank of the scarf pin 12 is inserted therebetween and positioned in a way to possibly crowd a little of the fabric of the tie therebetween and so that the pin may be pinched and held when so attached.

Adjacent to the twisted portion of the holder are formed depending loops 13-13 which are alike in construction and shaped to form a yieldable socket 14 to receive the shank of the collar button, said pocket having a contracted throat portion 15 through which the shank of the button is crowded and an enlarged upper portion in which the shank of the button is normally positioned. This loop for the button is positioned to the rear of the depending loop for the pin and serves to provide ample space for the head of the collar button and gives to the ie a desired set and position when attached for use.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

l. A necktie holder formed of a single piece of wire, the intermediate part of which is bent and secured together, and including a yieldable socket through which a button may be inserted, a downwardly extended loop including two spaced parallel yieldable side members to receive a scarf pin and between which it may be held, and two upwardly and outwardly disposed arms over which the necktie is folded.

A. necktie holder formed of a single piece of wire, the intermediate part of which is bent and secured together, and including a yieldable socket through which a button may be inserted, a downwardly extended loop with two parallel yieldable side members and having an enlarged eye at the lower extremity that opens into the narrowed space between the two said yieldable parallel side members, and two upwardly and outwardly disposed arms over which the necktie is folded. 3. A necktie holder formed of a single piece of wire, the intermediate portions of which are twisted together and bent to form two projecting yieldable loops with socket therebetween having a narrowed throat portion to receive a button, and two downwardly extended parallel yieldable portions that are spaced apart and adapted to engage a scarf pin when inserted therebetween, and two upwardly and outwardly disposed arms over which the necktie may be folded.
