vice for retaining a certain key separated from the remainder of the keys on the holder so that the owner may readily grasp the same i l-the dark or without necessitating the trying of all the keys in the lock. A second object of the invention is to provide a device of the above character which may be readily engaged and disen-' gaged from the key ring.

Another object of the invention is to provide a key ring attachment which is simple in construction, is formed from a single length of metal, and which may be manufactured and placed on the market at a minimum cost.

- With the above and other objects and advantages in view, the invention consists of the combinations of elements, arrangements, formations, specific details, and general assemblage which will be fully amplified here inafter.

Figure 1 is an elevation of a key ring attachment embodying my idea, assembled with a key ring;

Referring to the drawing, the numeral 5 denotes an end elongated blank stamped from a sheet of resilient metal and bent transversely upon itself to provide a U- shaped member 10. This U shaped member 10 is provided with an elongated slot 11 which is open at one end thereof and is adapted to receive a ring 10 carrying a key.

One leg of the U shaped member is transversely split to afford sections 12 and 13, the section 13 constituting a resilientkeeper, while the free end of the section 12 is bent upon itself to provide a hook 14 which is disposed upon the keeper 12, the key ring 15 being adapted to pass between the keeper and hook 14 and engagedwith the latter.

In the use of the device the key ring 10 is engaged in the slot 11 and then slid upon the split leg, the key ring 15 is then engaged with remaining leg of the U shaped member and the key ring then engaged between the keeper 13 and the hook it and allowed to rest in the latter. 1

In the modification shown in Fig. 3, the blank is simply folded upon itself transversely at its middle.

This construction embodies the preferred form of the invention but it is to be understood that the construction set forth may be modified in many respects and that my limits of modification are only governed by the appended claims.

hat is claimed is: 1. A device of the character described including a length of metal. bent in the form of an elongated blank and then bent transversely upon itself to afford a U shaped member, one of the legs of the latter being split, said legs being adapted to engage a key ring, the U shaped member having a longitudinal slot to accommodate a second ring. 2. A device of the character described inrluding a length of metal bent upon itself to provide a U shaped member, the U shaped member having a slot therein to receive a key ring, one of the legs being s lit to afford a pair of sections one of whic constitutes a keeper, a hook formed upon the end of the other section for cooperation with the keeper, both legs being engageable on a key ring.

3. In a device of the character described, a length of resilient metal bent in elongated loop-like formation and then bent transversely upon itself to afford a U shaped member, one leg of the U shaped member being split to afford a pair of sections, one section constituting a resilient keeper, the end of the other section being bent upon itself to afford a hook, the hook being disposed beneath the keeper, the U- shaped member being adapted to be engaged with a key ring and provided with a slot to receive a second ring.
