To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Marrrmw A. WALKER, a citizen of the United States, residing at South Connellsville, in the county of Fayette and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a to be hen led and transported without the danger of the same explodin A further object of the invention is to provide novel means to guide the firing pin to insure the firing of the shell, when the firing pin contacts with the target at which the same is fired. g
- With the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of constructidn hereinafterdescribed and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, may be made within the scope of what is claimed, without de arting from the spirit of the invention.

From an observation of the drawing, it
will be seen that the outer end of tho-firing pin 18 extends beyond the end of the member 13 to insure the pin contacting with the object at which the same is fired, to the contact with the cap 20.
This cap 20, is positioned within the upper end of the metallic chamber 21, which embodies comparatively light material, the same being of; a size to closely fit within the body portion 11. to insure against movement thereof with relation to the bod portion, which movement might result in the exploding of the explosive material contained within the metallic ehamber 21, the upper end that the lower extremity 19 thereof will r ing pin in such position under ordinary conditions.
It is the (purpose of the invention to provide a ban capable of supporting the firing pin 18, in its normal position under ordinary conditions and to revent the firing of the shell if the device is dropped, or otherwise caused to contact with a surface, the same being constructed to fire only under unusual pressure directed thereto.
