State of-New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Calendar- Clocks, of which the following is a specifica- This invention relates to improvements in calendar clocks, which indicate the year, the month of the year, the days of the month, the days of the Week, the various phases of ,the moon, and if it be a leap year in addition to the function of the clock in indicatin time.
lhe object of the invention is to provide a neat appearing casing in which all of these several movements are operated and controlled by a standard clock movement, the invention consisting in supplying a combination of novel means by which these objects are accomplished, and which are attained. by the novel construction and combination of parts hereinafter described and shown in the accompanying drawings, forming a material part of this specification, and

Pivoted to one of the depending elements 44, of the clock frame 45, is a lever 46, having a downturned arm 47, from which extends a lateral projection 48, having one flatted side adapted to make contact with the periphery of a scroll face cam '50, secured on the shaft 51, journaled in the sides of the clock frame 45, and which is rotated by a spur gear 52 by power transmitted from the clock work and at such speed as to rotate once during every twenty-four hours, thus raising the lever 46, an drop each day. j
Adjustably engaged in an outstanding lug 54, of the lever 46, is a rod 55, having an angularly bent end pivotally engaged near the free end of a lever 56, secured at its inner end upon a shaft 58.
Secured to the shaft 58 is the inner end permitting it to of a flat spirally coiled spring 60, the opposite end being engaged with a post 61, the effect of the spring being tonormally maintain the lever 56, in a downward position and hold thepin 48, against the peripheral surface of the cam 50.

The lever 160 is pivoted upon a stud 161, and held normally against the cam by action of the spring 162. The upper end of this lever 160 is rovided with a segment 165 engagin wit a pinion 166, mounted upona shaft 172, of a pin, the shank or stem of which operates in a slot 173, the opposite outer end of-the bar being pivotally connected by a link 174, pivoted by a screw 175, to the rim of the ratchet so that the bar 132 is free to oscillate, being held normally in place due to the spring 176, coiled about the screw 175, maintaining the pin 133, against the cam 135, during certain parts of the revolution of the ratchet 100, so that the pin 130, will actuate the lever 126. Thus the action of the rotatable plate 145 controlsthe stop lever 122.
Months of 31 days corresponding with depressions 146 on the plate 145' actuate the mechanism so as to allow step 121 to be held in position to contact with the pin 120, while months of 30 days, corresponding to the raised elevations 147, bring the step 123, into position to contact with the ,pin 120, while months of 29 days as February during leap year, corresponding to the raised tooth 178 move the stop lever so that the pin.

viously two of the eight spaces are deeper recessed than the rest so that the movable tooth 185 will ,be actuated every fourth year and through it change the connec-' -tion actuating the stop lever 122, so that the Operatin lever 56, will travel its full limlt with pm 120 resting on the stop 127.
Also mounted on the shaft 144, is a bevel gear 190, mating with a mating gear 191,
fixed upon the shaft 192,. mounted horizontally at the bottom of the casing in line with the shaft 75, and carrying the drum 36, which obviously will be rotated from one month to another at the beginning thereof.
Also mounted upon the shaft 144, is a disk 195, having a cam like depression 196, with which is engageable the turned end 198, of the bell crank lever arm 200, fulcrumed on a pin 201, the other arm 202, of the lever extending upward and having pivotally en-- gaged by the screw 205, an arm 206, in
which is engaged a pin 207, by means of which is actuated a ratchet 208, secured on a shaft 210, upon which is also engaged the disk 32, hearing indications of the year, whether it, be leap year, first, second or third year thereafter, the same showing through the openings 31 in the front of the clock I casing.
A detent 215, carries a roller held against being held a ainst motion by means of a detent 227. he gear 225 meshes with a mating gear 228, secured upon a shaft 230, which conveys motion to the first drum 232, bearing numerals from 0 to 9. Ordinary carrying connections engage between the first and second drum 233, so that when the first drum has made one complete revolution, the second drum has turned one point,'the third drum 234 being fixed or stationary. v
Actuation of the disk 34, a portion of which is opaque, or black and the remainder orange colored to represent the moon, is accomplished as follows :-This disk is centered upon a shaft 240, to which is also secured a ratchet 241, held normally against rotation, by means of a detent 242, and actuated by a pin 245, held in the end of a link 246, pivoted on a screw 247, to a lever 248, having an extension 250, the outer end 251, of which is bent to make contact with the lever 56. Thus as the lever is operated once each day, a similar rotary motion is trans mitted to the di sk 34, so that the various phases of the moon are correctly indicated.
