- spending parts.
My invention has for its object to improve the construction of chain-work bracelets, so as to better adapt them for keeping their form when worn, while at the same time making them more beautiful and elegant in appear- 1 ance; and it consists in a bracelet formed by turning the edges of a piece of chain-work down over the edges of a metallic plate, as hereinafter more fully described.
A represents the chain-work, which may be of any desired pattern, and about the construction of which there is nothing new. B is a plate of gold, silver, or other suitable metal, which is placed upon the inner side of the middle part of the chain-work A, and the edges of said chain-work are turned down over it, as shown in Fig. 2. The edges of the chainwork A may overlap the inner side of the plate B less or more, or they may overlap it so as to meet, and thus entirely cover the said plate inside and outside, as may be desired.
By this construction the plate B not only gives form to the bracelets, but the burnished surface of the plate B, shining through the chain-work A, gives a beauty and elegance to the bracelet not otherwise obtained.
Having thus described my invention, I elai m as new and desire to'secure by Letters Patent- An improved bracelet, formed by turning the edges of a piece of chain-work, A, down over the edges of a metallic plate, B, substantially as herein shown and described.
WILLIAM EDGE.
