A TTORAIE V8 be uniformly UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ALBERT LOUIS RENFRO, OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA, ASSIGNOR 0F ONE-HALF TO WILLIAM K. LEE, 0]? BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA.
SACK-HOLDER.
Application filed September 25, 1919.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALBERT LOUIS BEN- rno, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Bakersfield, in the county of Kern and State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Sack-Holders, of which the following is a specification.
My invention is an improvement in sack holders, and has for its object to provide a device of the character specified, adapted for use with threshing and milling machines, for supporting the bag or sack into which the grain or flour is discharged, in such manner that the mouth of the bag will be held distended to receive the material without spilling, and wherein the bag will filled without the necessity of tamping or shaking, and wherein the bag may be readily attached or detached.
In the drawings Figure l is a front view showing the improved holder in use,
Fig. 2 is a perspective view attached.
The present embodiment is shown in connection with the discharge spout 1 of a threshing or milling machine, and the improved holder comprises a substantially rectangular frame consisting of side members 2 and connecting end members 3, the said frame being of metal of suitable cross section, and of strap material arranged with its wide dimension perpendicular to the plane of the frame. In connection with this frame, there is provided a yoke consisting of a body 4 and arms 5 which are slidably connected with the side members 2 of the frame 2-3. The said side members have openings of the holder 0 near their ends through which the arms are slidable, the said yoke being of rod material.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Jan. 20, 1920.
Serial No. 326,149.
Nuts 6 are threaded onto the ends of the arms, to limit the sliding movement of the body of the yoke awayfrom the frame, and it will be evident, that by grasping the body of the yoke and moving it toward or from the frame, the aggregate distance between the body of the yoke and the remote side member of the frame may be varied.
Hooks 7 are provided on the body of the yoke near its ends, and other books 8 are provided on that side member of the frame which is remote from the body of the yoke, and these hooks 7-8 cooperate to support the bag 9.
The improved holder is supported from the spout 1 of the threshing or milling frame, the said frame being connected therewith, with the side members 2 on opposite sides of the spout, and in operation, the bag to be supported is engaged with the hooks 7-8, and the yoke is then adjusted with respect to the frame to hold the mouth of the bag open.
a I claim 2- A bag holder of the character specified, comprising an open substantially rectangular frame adapted to be secured thereto, a discharge spout, a yoke consisting of a body and arms extending laterally from the body, the arms being slidably connected with the side members of the frame near the end members thereof, hooks supported by the body of the yoke and by that side member of the frame remote from the said body, and means on the free ends of the yoke arms to limit the movement of the yoke body away from the frame.
