CORPORATION OF PENNSYLVANIA.
FIELD-MAGNET FRAME.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CARL G. Korrrrz, a citizen of the United States, residing at Greensburg, in the county of Westmoreland and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Field-Magnet Frames, of which the following is a specification. I
The present invention relates to field magnet frames in an electric machine.-
It is the special object of my invention to produce a field structure for electric motors of exceedingly small size in a simple and compact form, of a single piece of material and so cheaply that the cost of manufacture is merely nominal.
Reference is had to the appended drawing in which- Figure 1 I: a longitudinal section, and Fig. 2 a, transverse section through the field structure constituting m invention. In the drawing 1 is a tubular body of wrought iron or steel and 2 and 3 are p'ole pieces projecting toward the interior of the tube. The pole pieces 2 and 3 are integral with the tube and are formed thereon by rolling, drawing or depressing the material of the tube. 4 and 5 represent conventional field coils. 6 the armature, 7 the commutator Specification of Letters Pat nt.

and 8 the armature wires connected to the commutator. for the armature shaft 11. In the bearing block 10 are openings for accommodating the support for the brushes and their terminals.
By selecting the, process of rolling, drawing or depressing, which is well understood in itself, in contradistinction to other proc- 9 and 10 are bearing blocks esses, such as casting,-'I can reduce the time pressed tubing having portions depressed into shape to fit an armature and form polar projections. V
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
