Referring to the drawings, it will be seen that the-numeral 5 designates a neck band having one end looped as at 6 and associated with a sliding buckle 7 whereby theneck band may 1be lengthenedor shortened to suit the size of the lcollar worn by the wearer'.

The folds of the tying ends are held in this position while the elastic central band 10 is moved to the central portion of the fold as shown in Fig. 1. The elastic gripping action of the' central band causes the folds to be maintained in proper position and also causes the adjacent portions of the folds to be tucked thereby more closely simulating the .appearance of the bow knot or tie. It' is obviousthat the folds of the tying ends are so arranged with respect to each other as previously described and as shownin Fig. 1 that their looped ends are properly spaced and formed to simulate -a bow tie and that no skill is required to arrange the parts 4in proper position. A necktie comprising a neck band having one end looped and associated with la sliding buckle to vary its length, a link en- `tion of the link 8 preferably 'by stitching or the like 9, as shown in Fig. 2.
