Description

in) STATES PATENT OFFICE.
' GIEURGE TURRELL AND ALVEY ARMSTRONG, OF TACOMA, WASHING-TON.
rUnNrrUaE-PoLIsH.
No Drawing.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, GEORGETURRELL and Anvnr ARMSTRONG, citizens of the United States, and residents of Tacoma, Pierce county, Washington, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Furniture- Polish, of which the following is a specification.
Our invention relates to an article of manufacture, which consists of a polish designed for use upon furniture.
Our invention consists of a polish having the ingredients and the composition hereinafter defined and which is set forth in detail in the claim which terminates this specification.
The ingredients contained in this composition are as follows, and in the proportions givenfii raw linseed oil, a of alcohol, turpentine prefer to add a slight trace of ammonia. These ingredients expressed in another way would be: 8 parts of the raw linseed oil,
parts of alcohol, 1 part turpentine, 1 part beeswax, with the trace of ammonia added.
1; bees-wax, to this we also Specification of Letters Patent. P t t d 23, 1 Application filed May a, 1919. Serial No. 298,523.
The manner of compounding the ingredients is as follows: The bees-wax is first dissolved in the turpentine and then mixed with the linseed oil and alcohol. The ammonia may be added at any time.
We have found that the slight percentage of ammonia gives the product a cleansing quality which loosens the dirt which is then removed by the rubbing given the furniture when applying the polish.
In using the polish it is applied with a brush or rag and then a rag used to polish the surface.
What we claim as our invention is:
An article of manufacture consisting of a furniture polish having the following ingredients and proportions by weight: 8 parts raw linseed oil, 2 parts a cohol, 1 part turpentine, 1 part bees-wax, and a trace of ammonia.
Signed at Tacoma, Washington, this 30th day of April, 1919.
GEORGE TURRELL.
