CAP.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Nov. 25, 1919.
Application filed September 1, 1918. Serial No. 252,562.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MARY SETINA, a citizen of the United States, and resident of Milwaukee, in the county of Milwaukee and State of Visconsin, have invented new and useful Improvements in Caps, of which the following is a description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which are a part of this specification.
The invention relates to caps and more particularly to a cap which unlike others is madeof straw and which is fully described and explained in the specification and shown in the accompanying drawings in which:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the cap embodying the invention;
Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view of the cap on the line 22 of Fig. 3; and
Fig. 3 is a section taken on the line 3-3 of Fig. 2.
In the drawings the numeral 4. designates generally the body of the cap and 5 the V1ZOI.
The body of the cap consists of a substantially flat top portion 6, curved sides 7 and circular crown 8. The sides 7 are curved outwardly and then downwardly and inwardly to the crown which is of less diameter than the upper portion of the cap. The cap is made of Milan straw or may be made of other flexible straw which is woven or formed to produce the body above de-' scribed. In the present instance the Milan straw which generally comes in long strands 1s wound from the center 9 and sewed in successive layers to form the body of the cap.
posed near that of the outer edge of the vizor, as best shown in Figs. 1 and 2. p
The cap thus formed is of pleasing appearance, and is light and comfortable to the wearer.
What I claim asmy invention is:
A flexible cap comprising a body of pliable straw including a substantiallyflat top "portion, a circular crown portion, and side portions. curved inwardly from the top to the crown portion, and a flexible vizor of straw secured to the crown portion, the sides of the body being projected beyond the crown portion and the portion of the sides adjacent the vizor being projected beyond the crown portion a greater distance than the remainder of the sides. V
In testimony whereof, I afiix my signature.
MARY SETINA.
