SHUTTLE-ACTION Fonl Looms.
To all whom t may concern: l
:Be 1t known that we, 'JOZEF yVVoJTI'AsI'E- wrczandJoHN ZAJAC., citizens of Austria,
residing at ,Chadwicks in the county of Oneida fand State of yNew York,.ha\`fe vinvented Certain new andusefulImprovements .in Shuttle-Actions -for Looms, ofv which the `following is a specication, jreference being yhad therein to the accompanying drawing.
Our inventionrelatesfto a shuttle. action for looms and we declare the lfollowingto be .a full, clear, f concise and Iexact description .thereof sufficient to enable kanyone skilled .in theart to which it appertainsto .make vand use the same referencebeinghad Vtov-the accompanayingdrawings in which likereference characters refer to, like parts` throughlout the vspeciiication.
The object oftheeinvention is to provide a durable device for throwing` theshuttle .across the loom in the usual manner of A weaving. 'Inthe construction of looms, heretofore, the mechanism for throwing the .shuttle across the loo-rn was under so'. great a strain thatfrthe parts in lconnection therewith .wore out 4very A quickly, .i thereby necessitatingvnew ones. y'This invention is designed to overcome that serious defect by .transferring .the strain to levers o that l are moved alternately, whereby to `eilect. the .lac-
tuation of the shuttle. y
The object will- Albe understood by reierring to the drawings in which:

the member 15 of the andthe brackets with' a nub 40a againstv which impinges a roller 41a that revolves on an axle carried by an arm` 42a. The armv 42a Vis fixed to turn Y withthe rock` shaft 13; On each revolution its fulcrum and Yagainst the tension of the; coiled'spring 43 thatV is disposed between 'the u lower surface ofthejlev'er 29 and the upper L ofthe arm "42a, the roller 41a impinges against the nub`4()a tomove thelever 29a' againstthe tension ofa spring 43,t` whereby to exert apull on-,the cord 28 to actuate the arm 47 and the shuttle 20 vacrossthe loom in the well known-.mannen.v
Y' lnbperation, thel crank shaft 7 i reckshaft 13 are revolved by means ofthe meshinggears 11 and-#12rand-theV pulley-14 which is turnedV by any well known motive power, not shown here.
The. crank: shaft 7 will revolve faster than the shaftlfbecausefof thefratio ofv gear 1 1 to gear 12, gear l11 being smaller than-gearV 12. As
the crank shaft 7 revolves, the lay v2 which is-connected thereto by thek arms 1 0 will rock back and forth.` Furthermore, .there-VV volving of -Ith'e shaf-tlSf-will. cause the 'rollers 41`- and-41a-on the arms 42 andr42to Valternately. strike `the nubs-40 'andf'f402L of the nlevers r'j29--and 29a and thereby depress said levers'29 and 29a against the tension-of the springs 43 and 43a, wherebyfto'elfect a pull 1in each instanceupon the respective cords 28 Ysupply the woof thread to the fabric.'v The shuttle boxes 24 will be shifted vertically at the proper times to furnish a diiferent'shuttle 20V carrying a given coloredthread,`
