To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, J OSEPI-I E. OSBORNE, a. citizen of the United States, residing in the city of Washington, District of (Johnnbia, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Awning-Fixture-Clamping Tools, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to clamping tools and more particularly to a'clamp for securing awning fixtures to the head rod of an awnin g frame.

The object of my invention is to provide an improved clamping tool for awning fix tures and especially for clamping the awning fixtures to the head rod of an awning which forms the subject of the United States Letters Patent granted to me on the 17th day oi r'iugust 1915, and numbered 1,150,296.

lhnthermore, the object of my invention is to provide a clamping tool having a base upon which an adjustable anvil is secured, and a lever pivoted to the base and to which is secured a reversible set which may be used for fixtures of different sizes.

Finally the object of my invention is to provide a clamping tool of the foregoing described type which will possess advantages in points of simplicity, durability, and efliciency, proving at the same time comparatively inexpensive to produce and sustain.

With the foregoing and other objects in view, the invention consists in the details and construction, and in the arrangement and combination of parts, to be hereinafter more fully set forth and particularly pointed out in the claim.

In describing the invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawing forming part of the specification, wherein like characters denote corresponding parts in the several views, and in which Figure 1 is a perspective view,

Fig. 1 is a plan view of an anvil plate for use in clamping large awning fixtures,

Fig. 5 is a plan view of an anvil plate used in bending small awning fixtures, and

lln the drawings, 1 indicates the base plate which is provided with apertures 2 at each corner, whereby the device may be attached to a bench if desired to more rigidly secure the same while in use. Vertical supports 33 having bases H on each side are formed integral with the base plate 1. The supports 38 are provided with apertures at their outer or upper end, and between the supports, I secure a handbar 5 by a bolt 6. The outer end of the handbar is provided with a round end portion 7 on which an ordinary pipe may be secured when it is desired to give more leverage to the handbar A reversible set 8 having transversely extending SGIIIl-Cll'CUlZLl grooves 9 9, is secured to the lower surface of the handbar 5 by a screw 10 so that it may be reversed when fixtures of a different size are being clamped on the head rod of an awning. The grooves 9-9, I also provide with small grooves 11-11 which prevent the fixtures from any side movement while being clamped on the rod.

An anvil plate 12 having an open slot 13, seats between the supports 33. A screw 14 threaded into the base, permits the anvil plate to be moved either forward or backward to bring semi-circular groove 15 immediately beneath the grooves 11 on the set 8. At the rear end of the groove 15, I provide a screw 16 which is threaded into the anvil plate to hold the awning fixture 17 in relative position to the groove in the set. I also provide anvils of different sizes which are used in connection with awning fixtures of different sizes. In Fig. 5, I show an anvil plate 18 having one end of a greater thickness than the anvil plate shown in Fig. 4. The thickness of the plate compensates for the difference in the size of the awning fixture, the anvil plate 18 being used for the small awning fixtures.

Having fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

In an awning fixture clamping tool, a base provided with handle supports formed integral with said base, a handle bar pivoted in said supports, a reversible set provided with semi-circular shaped grooves removably secured to the under surface of said handle "bar, an anvil plate provided with an open slot and having semi-circular grooves on its upper surface adapted to register with said semi-circular grooves in the handle set, and 5 means for removably securing said anvil vplate to said base substantially as described.
