suenen r. mums. or omesso, Immers isnrmif Y ANCHOR more particularly to a support for engagement by they/indouT washers clips.
One ofV thewobjeets of my invention 1s to provide a support for attachment to a metal window sash having a transversely concavedV vertically extending surface on its outer edge adjacent the portion to be embedded in a concrete post.
Another object of my invention is coprovide such a support in which the headed projections over which the clips s lide 'are provided with shoulders intermediate the head and base for spacing the clip outwardly to prevent its engagement with either the window or other adjacent parts.
Still further objects of the invention are to provide a sturdy, rigid attachment member which will be efficient in operation and not liable to breakage.
Still other and further objects will become apparent to those skilled in the art from a consideration of the following description and drawing, wherein Figure 1 is a front elevation of a window sash showing my improved support in osition,
i 2 is a horizontal sectional view on the llne 2-2 of Fig. 1, showing a window washers clip attached to the support, and
Fig. 3 is a vertical sectional view on the line 3 3 of Fig, 2.
Considerable dilficulty has been found in providing a support for engagement by a window washers harness at the point of juncture between a metal window sash and concrete wall or post, where the edge of the sash is embedded in the concrete. This is particularly true of the metal window frames known as fenestra, wherein a Very small amount of metal is exposed between the concrete wall and glass window.
The vertical strip of metal forming a portion of the outer side of the window sash has a transversely concaved surface adjacent the glass and I have so arranged my improved support as to permit its attachment to this surface and yet space the Yspeisernen of Letters Patent.

Yclip outwardly away from the included anle between the glass and concrete. accomplish by providing the base from which the clip engaging lug extends. with a transversely convex surface to interlit the concaved surface on the frame and the oitf wardly extending headed projections over which the clips slip are provided intermediate the head and base with a shoulder which holds, or spaces, the clip outwardly away from the window .and concrete, hold i ing it in the desired position. Y
In the specific embodiment of the invention which l have chosen to illustrate for the purpose of making a full and complete disclosure, the numeral 10 indicates a metal window sash formed of an' angle iron having an inwardly extending leg 11 and outwardly extending leg 12. vA flange 13 projects from the leg 11` near its juncture with the leg 12 to provide an outward abutment for the window glass 14 which is secured in position by suitable cement or other material 15. Between the outer face of the iange 13 and the inner edge of the leg 12 a concaved vertically extending surface 16 is provided and it is against this vertically extending concaved surface that I attach `my support.
The support comprises a verticaly extending base 17 having its rear surface convexed, as at 18. to intert with the concaved surface 15 of the window sash. From the outer convex surface 19 two spaced apart headed projections 20 extend for engagement with the window washers slotted clip, indicated in general by the numeral 21. These projections 20 have heads 22 formed on their outer ends and anges or shoulders 23 intermediate the head and base, forming annular grooves at 24 between the heads 22 and flanges 23, in which the slotted clip 21 slides. The head 23 therefore serves to space the clip outwardly away from the supports to prevent any possible side movement of the clip such as might cause its engagement with the window 14. This arrangement of the shoulder adjacent the head on the end of the projection also serves to guide the clip as it is slid over the projection and holds it firmly in the position shown in Fig. 2, preventing wabbling or side movement.
The base may be secured to the sash in any. suitable manner, as for example, by the screws 25 taking through countersunk holes in the base into threaded holes in the sash. The ends of the screws may be headed over, as at 26, for additional security.
Whereas I have illustrated and described but a single embodiment of my invention, it will be evident to those skilled in the art that various changes or modifications may be made without departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope of the appended claims.
Having described my invention, what I claim is 1. A device for engagement with a window washers slotted safety clip and for attachment to a window frame between ag'ularly disposed walls, comprising an elongated base 17, two spaced-apart headed pro: jections, 20, each projection provided with spaced apart heads, 22 and 23, to provide a space 24 to receive the clip 21, the inner head, 23, being spaced apart from the base 17 a distance sucient to permit the clip to clear the wall and glass when the base is located at the junction of angularly related walls.
2. In combination with a metal window sash having an abutment to receive the window glass and a vertically extending concaved surface on the outside of said abutment a supporting means having an elonated base part with its rear or under surace convex to fit said concave surface, said supporting means havin a plurality of spaced apart headed roJections, each projection being provides with an outer head and an intermediate head spaced apart to receive a window washers slotted clip, said intermediate head being spaced from said support, said heads extending at an' angle with reference to the sides of the angle between said window glass and frame, whereby the clip is held away from the glass and frame to prevent enga ement therewith.
In testimony whereo I hereunto set my hand.
